How possible would it be for a crazy virologist to create and spread a superbug/epidemic like the Zika virus? Or really any serious virus that would cause a bunch of problems.
Is it even possible?

Wow interesting. I always thought Anthrax was a chemical agent like mustard gas or cyanide. I'll read up on this.
Pretty stupid of me to think people haven't attempted this before
Do batteries get heavier when you charge them?
Yeah because electrons are heavy.
Are you retarded?
>>8150750
yes, if you store an energy E in the battery (which is more than the available energy), the mass increases by E/c^2
I'm reading spivak's 3rd edition of calculus, and I'm wondering how many of the practice problems do you guys do? I'm still on the first section and have been doing 1 or 2 problems from every question.
I don't do as many as you desu I just do a handful per chapter
Why Spivak instead of Apostol? They're equally rigorous, but Spivak just tries super hard to be as difficult to understand as possible.
>>8152944
Depends on how much do you want to learn. Sometimes he introduces concepts that are not explained in the chapter.
How would /sci/ define 'one'? Without using words such as 'single', 'unit' or any other numbers.
a thing that isnt accompanied by more things
>>8152587
a thing
I thought about calling it the number of elements in a set in which you can't create a random pair of elements. But then you have to define a pair.
If the brain creates our reality, how can it be in that same reality.
How can the brain create reality, while at the same time be inside of it.
how can a universe exist within itself? how does a set of all sets contain itself?
Makes no sense
> create reality

Could they have really built them with the technology they had?
>>8151334
Yes.
>>8151337
Do you really think so? I've heard on the history channel that it would be practically impossible. They would need some anti-gravity device to lift up the huge slabs. Not to mention the funky hieroglyphics that show light bulbs.

I cant even tell if you guys get a kick out of this or you are legitimately stupid.

Entire perimeter of campus is covered in churches. Kinda retarded budget. Currently spending a shitload of money to expand a stadium when they can't even fill the seats they have now.

>Really? You must be a genius. Why aren't you studying something harder?
>I get absolutely triggered but just let out a fake laugh and say nothing.
>Something like medicine!
>Get PTSD flashbacks to all of the times I've shat on pre-meds in here. Thinking to myself it this nigga is serious
I luckily got out of there alive. How do people get the impression that mathematics is easy? Is it because he is a doctor and has been living in a daily circle jerk of doctors being intellectually superior?
If you ask me we should enhance pre-university mathematics classes. Teach the fucking kids how to count with the set theoretical construction of the natural numbers. Make mathematics literally impossible to pass in high school so that no one ever dares to call mathematics easy ever again.
Fuck am I mad.
>>8148421
you really do seem mad.
that being said, and all your irrational bullshit aside, your circle jerk assumption is spot on. med schoolers are amongst the most horrific of assholes, together with law schoolers. they both think they have the monopoly on difficult studies when they are really just learning shit others have discovered by heart whilst doing a woodwork apprenticeship on humans.
medicine is not science. it's a laboratory for science.

Shitty lab partner stories? I've been really lucky to have cooperative and good-humored lab partners up until this point, but now I'm having problems in chem.
>Have three partners (more than needed for the lab experiment)
>Lab tables are designed to split us up, but we have to work together anyway
>Personally very attentive to detail, cautious about gathering data
>People on the other side of the table just want to barrel ahead in the assignment and get out early
>They end up doing most of the work, and doing it wrong
>I'm only able to get reliable measurements on half the trials
>When I point out that they don't have any methodology, they bitch at me for "not paying attention"
>Being attentive to the variables and measurement techniques is "not paying attention"
>I get fed up and decide that I'll do the whole thing next time, and they can just deal with me being slower
Utterly bizarre, I've never had lab partners before who wanted to rush through everything. It is Gen Chem 1 though. Physics >>> shit >>> Gen chem
That's a lot of people in early chem. There's a lot of people there just taking the class because they need it and have no interest in chemistry whatsoever. Once you get to O Chem though I'm sure you'll have mostly serious people.
>>8144778
>There's a lot of people there just taking the class because they need it and have no interest in chemistry whatsoever
I'm one of those. I guess I'm just surprised because I've gotten used to taking courses that are past the pleb filter.
>>8144778
Ochem can be even worse cause all the bio majors gotta take it. Quantitative analysis is the shit though. Good lab partners all around.
Are there any good educational YouTube channels?
>pic possibly related
Numberphile
I think Numberphile can get pretty good but it's more informative than educational.
I don't know if that make sense, but what I'm trying to say is that you could watch a certain video and learn 'about', say, graph theory. But you aren't really going to 'learn' graph theory.
Vsauce is garbage.
