Is there any kind of evolutionary advantage or niche to having autism? I hear all the time about how we 'need' people with autism because they're awesome savants who are computer geniuses, but the majority just seem to sit inside and play Minecraft. I think it's just something that parents of autists tell themselves to ease the pain of realizing that their child will never fit into society. I don't really see an evolutionary advantage to something that inhibits your ability to communicate with your fellow man.
it's not genetic its simply a result of ROASTIES over the age of 35 having children
I wish I could kill my mother for being a selfish bitch and deciding to have a kid (me irl) just before menopause when her eggs were rotten condemning me to a life of anime and minecraft
>>8307675
I don't think people on the spectrum should have children. If the kid is born male, he's doomed to a lifetime of pain and solitude unless he's stunningly handsome.

I feel like I'm taking good notes in my physics class, but then when I start working on the homework, my notes feel very inadequate. How do I take better notes for this class? I feel completely and utterly lost, and going to office hours only helps until I start on the homework.

Read
the
fucking
textbook
The first three semesters of calc-based physics can be done just knowing the formulas. There's a small amount of intuition necessary regarding how you're supposed to recognize how the word problems tie into the formulas, but it's almost entirely plug-n-chug.
Those formulas are EVERYTHING. Learn them and understand what they mean and you'll realize physics is the easiest STEM
>>8307670
i do read the textbook, but i have the same problem
i feel like i'm not understanding it, i can follow the math, but i don't get where it's starting from
How did this go from being about quantum physics and abiogenesis to being about trannies and niggers?
wat

not op but found the commercial I saw a few weeks ago. It's pretty much sjw schlock
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6zktzk17hE
>>8307628
Before I'm branded a numale SJW jew marxist, may I ask why it was "sjw schlock"? I couldn't hear all of it because the sound was shit quality, but from what I discerned, the trailer was all about asking the questions, they didn't state anything outright. Since when is asking questions SJW?
If everything is made out of atoms and electrons which are constantly moving at incredible speeds, how come I don't feel any movement when I put my hand on my table?
Try to keep your hand still in the air
because it's all bullshit
Science and mathfags literally just make shit up and obfuscate and dress it up sophistry and then turn around and say only smart guys can understand it
It's satanic
oh no, we've been found out
I stopped caring about Inter-universal Teichmuller Theory when I was introduced to the concept of [math] /Theta^{\pm ell}NF [/math] Hodge Theaters . What a crock of shit. If the spectrum of your algebraic number field can only be represented by inventing systems of Frobenioids that can't exist, like some kind of math deity , then you are fucking wrong and the math is flawed. Same for log-theta lattice solutions that basically say "the correct category is whatever the correct category is". Thats what the math said transcribed to words but god forbid if i wrote in down in english instead of the ancient math runes Mochizuki would say I don't understand his work.
Math is logical and numbers never lie my ass. Inter-universal Teichmuller Theory is just as flawed as any other human construct.

ok, there's so much wrong with that post
i am going to type a lengthy reply, don't go anywhere

OP here, I eagerly await your reply
How far is Proxima Centauri??
How long a space shuttle travel to Proxima Centauri?
we need a warp drive engine.
>>8307531
4.243 light years.
It would take an infinite amount of time because the space shuttle is no longer in service. Neither can the space shuttle obtain solar system escape velocity.
>>8307531
>How far is Proxima Centauri??
>google is hard
Let's pretend I have a girlfriend who bought me a locket that can go on my keychain, however, my keys have been scratching the paint off of this locket.
See picture
Now let's assume for the sake of the argument and because I'm bored, that I'm paranoid and I'm worried about lead poisoning.
How could I.....
1. See if the metal was lead?
Or more likely,
2. See if the metal was made of an alloy containing not lead?
Assume I cannot destroy the locket to test it, for sentimental reasons.
>>8307500
density
who cares, lol? people have been living in lead houses for decades and nobody's died lol
>>8307500
don't be a pussy
lead is not cyanide. If you don't have a rash it's fine.
What exactly is it about diamonds that make them the hardest metal known to man?
its chemical configuration
>diamonds
>metal
kek
>>8307494
Its all about quantum metallicity. When the left-quark induces spin in the q-space it makes it increase in hardness exponentially
any opinions?
Fuck off

how about tesla turbine?
Does the speed of sound depend on the amplitude of the pressure wave? Or is there a damping effect between the molecules? Imagine a nuclear explosion, its pressure wave should instinctively move faster than ie voice.
>>8307249
In an ideal gas the spread of sound is dependant on temperature. The pressure wave behind the blast may increase atmospheric pressure but the effect would be minimal. The speed of sound is faster in hot air rather than cold air, however it is conceivable that the blast would strike a target near ground zero before the sound does.
>>8307271
Can it be explained in layman's terms how exactly will the speed of outgoing molecules from the ground zero not affect the speed of pressure wave ?
With the recent discovery of Pliobates, is this book still accurate, or has it now been rendered obsolete?
dicks out
>>8307360
Indeed.
Could someone explain what time is and how time dilation works? How can time be relative depending on the position/speed of an observer?
>>8307212
Is time a lebesgue measure?
>>8307212
It's an illusion
>>8307212
Time is just one dimension in 4d curved space.
About to start a Calc 2 class. I passed Calc 1 by the skin of my teeth over a year ago and remember very little.
How fucked am I?
lol americans,,,,..,.,.,.
>>8307066
Do you have Calc 1 in uni in America?
If your pic is of Calc 2 class, you must have some easy af universities.
t. euromaster
>>8307091
Of course Calc 1 is taught. What kind of ass backwards "university" doesn't teach it?
Is Yourbrainonporn bullshit? Basically, the longer you masturbate, the more extreme the porn you watch will become. Apparently, we exhaust our dopamine receptors when we masturbate for long periods of time and we need new intense things to help us get off. Can porn really warp your mind that much? Does nofap really help cure you of your weird fetishes?
That's bullshit. I'm 30 and have been fapping since I was 13 and the weirdest porn I ever jerked it to was light bdsm. And even then that didn't last and I abandoned it pretty quickly when i realized it was nothing special. Vanilla porn still does it for me.
>>8306973
You're lucky. I'm 21 and I get soft in a second if I quit tugging it
>we exhaust our dopamine receptors
This is horseshit. Without dopamine receptors you wouldn't be able to move or think, it would be like having Parkinsons.
My Calc class uses Stewart. Should continue using apostol and just use stewart to do the problem sets or should I just switch over to stewart?
>>8306956
Use whatever it is that your professor happens to be using, and concentrate on getting the best grade possible, right now. Stewart is perfectly fine for a first jog through calculus, the hate that it gets here is partly a meme, and partly because it is not as autistically rigorous as the others.
By all means feel free to enrich yourself later using some other texts which have superior motivation and exposition (good on you for wanting to do this), but quite frankly you're going to be running through other topics, all the way up until graduation. Now is not the time for memes, or to ditch Stewart just because "hurr 4chan does not like that book". Now is the time for you to get off on the right foot with what I assume is a very early point in your college career, and that means not asking 4chan for fucking life advice, and not taking this post seriously unless you think about it and decide for yourself that it has been a sensible piece of advice, which you should never expect from 4chan to begin with, but if it crops up once in a great while, fine. For right now, concentrate on the tedium, and tick the boxes like the nice teacher wants. that means: use whatever book it is that the professor is using, so that you will literally be on the same page. Now is not the time for you to get cute and try something different. Now is the time for you to just tick the boxes. That means: acquire same text that professor is using, and make sure you can perform in relevant class.

>Use whatever it is that your professor happens to be using, and concentrate on getting the best grade possible, right now.
So much this.
