Why do his rockets keep blowing up?
29 posts and 4 images submitted.
>>
Most of the rockets are using new tech as far as i know so its bound to fail theres lots of fags here who will fight about which percentage error is what but they dont fail all the time that statement is false
>>
Because he's an megalomaniac who treats his workers like shit and his companies have an employee turnover rate higher than McDonalds. You can't expect a bunch of kids continually on the verge of quitting to make a rocket that doesn't blow up.

And he's continually re-inventing the wheel. The rocket blew up because of some new super-chilled fuels which have to be pumped extra fast which introduces extra dangers.

There's no future for SpaceX because satellite providers don't care about saving a few million on a several hundred million dollar satellite by putting it on a rocket which is unreliable.

What is the meaning of equipotential lines in flow fields?

I understand that the stream function shows me the direction of the flow field and that the equipotential lines are orthogonal to the streamlines.

The combination of these two form a flow net. But what is the significance of the equipotential lines? Why do I need them? What benefit do I get from having a flow net?

I can't find an answer anywhere, h-help?

Do blind people hallucinate when they take LSD or mushrooms? If not, what effect does it have on these people?

Also, does anybody here know of someone who suffers from blindness but has since tried LSD/mushrooms? If so, what did they experience?

Just look up Ray Charles, LSD made that blind man see. But apparently when a person who was able to see when they were born but got there blindness later on can hallucinate colours but that is as far as I know

btw how would a blind person see this post I don't think they use computers?? They're blind?

You aren't one of those evolution deniers, right anon? if so, lets discuss current human evolution, and what selective pressures are guiding evolution currently.

Indisputably, the number one selective pressure on humanity today is education. Education leads to greatly reduced fertility, with those with the highest degree attainment having the lowest fertility. This is especially pronounced amongst women. Some say that education will lead to a stable birth rate and population and will save humanity. Any high school freshman with a basic understanding of evolution can easily see through this facade though.

What happens when a strong selective pressure is placed on a population? a momentary decrease in birth rates and population, followed by a quick rebound to carrying capacity levels as those with traits that enable production of progeny in the face of that pressure win out. Humanity will see declining birth rates as education is applied to the entire population, but quickly those women who are genetically primed to desire children even after attaining a high education will out produce those whose genes are unable to handle the stress of education and childbearing. Their children will take over, and education will no longer be a negative selective pressure as the population will have adapted. everyone knows that ultimately, the only thing that stabilizes a population is reaching carrying capacity of the environment.

what other misconceptions about evolution do you see thrown around these days?

Another odd evolutionary argument I see is that choosing to not have children will lower the population. This is incredibly naive and it shocks me that I see people with PhDs spouting such nonsense. What happens when an animal that is genetically primed to have few children does not reproduce? the resources and space that would have gone to their progeny now go to children that are genetically primed to have more children. instead.

which is a better approach to population control:
a) introduce a subset of animal that has large territories and few children and aggressively kills intruders. this leads to few animals over a large space
b) introduce a subset of animal that pumps out tons of kids and has tiny territories. this leads to many animals in a small space

if you were in charge of population control, which would you rather select for to ultimately lead to population decline? do you think that killing off the animals that have small number of children and large territories will ultimately decrease the population? briefly maybe, but now the other subset will utilize the free territories and explode the population.

> the resources and space that would have gone to their progeny now go to children that are genetically primed to have more children. instead.
Human reproduction in modern society is a bit more complicated... adults in countries like italy or japan are not not having children due to some spatial limiting factor
>>
There are no selective pressures in first world countries.

I wanted to know how to combat the negative cognitive effects of cannabis. I've been heavily smoking since the beginning of the year and i feel the effects on my memory but more so my short term. i also notice the change in my vocabulary and speech. I am less concise and stumble over words. i have stopped smoking for 2 weeks now and plan to not smoke anymore. however these effects are still present and frustrating. is there anything i can do to speed up the process of "recovering" ? what can i do to improve myself to my former glory

>>
just go about your business, maybe try some extra reading and problem solving.

The cognitive effects of cannabis are temporary if you didn't start smoking until adulthood, so don't worry about it.

Does there exist a nonassociative ring with a cyclic additive group?

My intuition says no, but I'm having a tough time proving it.

>non-associative ring
>[math]a + b \neq b + a[/math]
Is that even a ring then? Help a brainlet like me understand pls.
>>
>>8327908

You're conflating commutativity and associativity for starters - the property you've stated is the former.

By convention, "ring" often implies commutativity and associativity of both addition and multiplication, but some authors don't require the associativity of multiplication. Thus, a "nonassiciative ring" is a structure that obeys all the ring axioms *except* associativity of multiplication.

For clarification, I am requiring the existence of a multiplicative identity (this axiom is relaxed sometimes, too).

Anyone else hate LaTeX hear?

>shit magically doesn't work and you go on a stackexchange goosehunt to find out why
>there are 70 packages that do one thing and you remember one time someone told you to never use one and you can't remember which
>ugly as shit and takes conscious effort to find out where the spot that contains your typo is amongst a see of slashes and brackets

The thing I hate the most is, unlike programming languages, there's no "learning LaTeX". It takes about an hour of reading to understand the syntax, from then on, "learning LaTeX" becomes "learning the tabular package" or "learning the amsmath package"--it's just a shitshow of learning the ins and outs of popular packages that never ends.
