What are /sci/-approved pets?
>>8379093
Not cats, which give you toxoplasma gondii instead of affection.
Dogs are the /sci/ peti. Dog owners have lower rates of depression, lower blood pressure, dog owners that had heart attacks live longer than non-owners.
Plus, anecdotal evidence, they help ease social anxiety since you can progressively allow yourself to express joy and affection with them knowing the dog will not judge you, and this carries over to your whole life.

Trips confirm.
Pretty much this, get a dog instead of a wife.
>will be there for you always
>won't complain
>you can understand them
>they don't cost a fortune
>won't complain
>won't cause you to die early from all its bullshit

Doodle theory
This is extremely cringey. Some non-mathematician who has drawn some autistic figures and then thrown some identities/formulas together in one big ugly mess. Why did he do that? Did it make him feel smart? Who knows.
So /sci/ why do I see my memories in third person? Is it a sign of depression?
It means you are a cuck
>>8378934
No. It means you are used to do it. That's how you protect yourself from external source emotions.
You can do the same at the moment. Anthony Robbins talks about it tho.
You played too many 3rd person shooters
Alright /sci/ I decided I'm going to Mars.
>Inb4 Elon Musk is a meme
I don't give a damn, he's meme with lots of money and ambition to do this.
I have a lot of self improvement to do for this and I believe that should be enough to warrant this.
Problem is, I don't even have a high school diploma, and am only now getting my GED. Studying for my GED ended up with me kind of finding out I actually enjoy doing math. Learning how to do math for my own reasons, rather than because a teacher told me, gives me immense gratification.
I'm yearning to learn more, but have no idea what I should learn, preferably something that will help on Mars and math related, and where to start.
What would you recommend?
Age?
Id say start by the basics, and most importantly fucking focus and have ambition+routine.
You aint gonna get to another planet by scratching your balls all day.
After learning basic Math/Geography/Tech/Chemistry/Computation/Medicine look up Nasa/SpaceX related stuff near you, get close to the company. They NEED every kind of worker up there to start the 1 Million Colony.
Again, how old are you?
OP, read all this (and the links mentioned) and then some, get educated in everything, you are in for a ride.

Well there isn't anything on Mars so people will need to get raw resources from the planet and refine them into useful things. Unfortunately that's extremely expensive and technical so unless you somehow make it big, you will have to get a valuable skill (and probably alot of money to buy a ticket).
You might want to be something like a handyman or other tradesman. For instance, a master electrician who went on to earn a bachelors and masters in electrical engineering. That way when people and companies with money finally begin investing money into civilization building, they will be interested in hiring you.
Alternatively you can jump straight into college, pick a useful degree, and hope for the best. The military is also a good option but there's no guarantee that you will get a useful MOS.
And of course there is the reality of increasing automation. Career paths that may seem useful now may be completely automated by the time you can get there.
In any case, if I were you, I would focus on valuable careers that make good money but would also be extremely useful on Mars. Things like engineering, medical, and trades come to mind.
why is everyone so dumb compared to me?

We're finally learning about double and triple integrals in my Calc III class and, well.... it's pretty much exactly what I expected.
Can someone explain why this is such a huge meme? What's so difficult about iterated integration?

Nothing. You said it yourself, it's a meme

can /sci/ redpill me on DMT? seems like it's almost mainstream now and with every retard who's done it spouting about it's magical properties. It seems to have started with Dr.strassman and his hypotheses about it being responsible for near death experiences and dreams being taken as fact.
How much of this has turned out to be true? I know some study showed its presence in the pineal gland of rats or something like that. I also know it's found in varying amounts in different human fluids/organs. Does any of this mean anything? Are the amounts found in humans too low to be indicative of anything? Could its presence be explained as simply a metabolic byproduct? what type of reactions would produce it? Is there any current research about possible uses the human body has for it (I believe i've heard digestion being one)?
tl:dr : what are arguments for and against DMT being a significant molecule in human physiology.
Reee leave my hobby alone.
DMT is awful.
Fact: 1 in 1 people who try DMT will die from it
It's not worth the risk.
Leave us alone.

It IS found in humans, and levels are higher when you're dreaming, so there's definitely some kind of connection there. Afaik no studies have been done on dying people specifically to measure DMT levels, maybe that could be your contribution to science, Anon!
How do you get smarter? Legit question.
Quit 4chan.
To become smarter, you need to not only add more tools to your toolbox, but also learn which tool is best for the job.

>Post math/science things brainlets get wrong that trigger you
Brainlets who use infix operators instead of RPN trigger me, op. Order of operations is retarded, just use a system that isn't ambiguous and then you don't have to come up with a convoluted ordering scheme.
x/0 = infinity
>>8378534
>RPN
Jesus fuck. Are you a goddamn robot? Why would you do that to yourself?
How is this allowed?
It's division by 0, how is that finite?
Because sin 0 = 0. As x -> 0, sin x -> 0, and sin x can be approximated by x with small enough x.
This honestly belongs here >>8373352
>>8378529
Dividing by zero isn't "forbidden", it just usually doesn't give any meaningful answer. In the case of sin 0, however, this has a non-finite outcome, so is meaningful.
