Is conservatism a brain disorder? Because even of climate change is proven to be real and entire cities are submerged underwater, conservatives will still find ways to deny it

by the time those cities are underwater, everyone will have long evacuated, moved to better, futuristic cities and go on vacations to the old city and scuba dive in parking lots.

or I guess we'll all just have egg on our face when a giant wave crashes down on every coastline in the world

Libruls can be deluded too, they just tend to fall for other kind of bullshit, like GMO hate, new age bullshit, etc. Also, the average person knows jack shit about climate change, the only reason they don't deny it is that they aren't politically motivated to do so, and depending on their social circle, it would make them look stupid.

>>metaphysics

Metaphysics is a branch of philosophy exploring the fundamental nature of reality.[1]

While various views and methods have been called 'metaphysics' across history, this article approaches metaphysics first from the perspective of contemporary analytical philosophy, and then explores metaphysics in other traditions. In this vein, metaphysics seeks to answer two basic questions:[2]

Ultimately, what is there?
What is it like?

>>Physics
Physics (from Ancient Greek: φυσιkή (ἐπιστήμη) phusikḗ (epistḗmē) "knowledge of nature", from φύσις phúsis "nature"[1][2][3]) is the natural science that involves the study of matter[4] and its motion and behavior through space and time, along with related concepts such as energy and force.[5] One of the most fundamental scientific disciplines, the main goal of physics is to understand how the universe behaves.[a][6][7][8]

probably gonna want to do Neuroscience/Paychology/Neurobiology/etc/etc whichever explains why the brain works the way it does and explains experiences and consciousness etc because for all we know, that may play a huge role

Would it be possible to allow involuntary acts to become voluntary? Could one be given the ability to manually replicate their own DNA? The body holds the knowledge, but is there a way to give the brain the power to control it and give consciousness the understanding?

I dubbed this "autoevolution" some number of years ago. It's conceivably possible, but would need dedicated machinery and novel signal transduction and information storage (state) structures. Memory is just state. There is nothing that is not memory. The attempt then becomes, different, finer grained, low level control of memory.

It would be easier to do this with micromachines than having some generator for chemical signalling. Error rate and potential for external tampering would be lower.

There are inherent design difficulties and potential vulnerabilities in self directed iteration and control of genetic machinery. It also implies arbitrary gene access and recombination, which has many issues as well.

Adaptive cycles typically work faster than that. Anyways yeah, frequent unintentional forest fires are a problem in a post industrial world. Rip oak savana tho, fire suppression is retarded.

Who?

Surely different skin tone/body types can be easily explained -

Human bodies have, through time, evolved to suit the food and environment which they are born into.

Surely this means that having multiple body colours/types is appropriate and preferential to everyone being the same colour/body type. The bodies are being specialised to their environments, why try to make everyone the same by mixing all the races together?

Why are liberals trying to force that to happen? Trying to create a hellish utopian ideal, one big homogenous mass of people - Even though mankind has naturally divided itself into tribes throughout history, even going so far as to develop different religions and scientific progressions.

Is it any wonder that "racists" try to keep different peoples divided? And I'm not just talking blacks and Whites - the Chinese vs Japanese, the Germans vs the Slavs and Jews, the indians infighting over cast, hell even the Irish vs the English contained sentiments about Celtic vs Anglo blood...

if that was true you could answer the question.

Why are we fighting against the natural course of natural history?

Because, as far as I can tell, its to fulfill some sort of idealistic philosophy - a childish utopia where everyone is treated the same, looks the same, and speaks the same language. No doubt they must all have the same religious beliefs too then?

Perhaps we should restart the Eugenics programs to help them.

No, i want to get to the bottom of this, because it seems counterproductive to humanity.

There's something that I want to discuss.

What would be the implications for modern human society if dinosaurs were still alive today?

Would we be extinct since we would be easy prey for raptors and shit?

Would human cities evolve into fortresses?
Would humans train and pet dinos?
4 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
A human can't face off against a panther any more than deinonychus, however how would they get into that situation? Our ancestors stayed in groups, slept in caves an surveyed their territory, hunting down dangerous predators.
>>
It greatly depends. "Dinosaur" is a very broad term. On a chronological time line, the last dinosaurs are closer to humans than they are to the first dinosaurs. And the evolutionary conditions which led to the era of massive dinosaurs are just incompatible with the conditions which led to the birth of humans so it's mostly implausible for dinos and humans to coexist in the same habitat not because one would exterminate the other but because of different conditions. And unlike humans, the dinos wouldn't have made it through the ice ages. But in the end I guess it wouldn't be much worse than when early homos had to deal with mammoths and saber tigers.
>>
In America, people who live in the country side often have to deal with bears, so they are often seen carrying revolvers and even shotguns just in case. So that would mean in an America with dinos they would be seen carrying heavier weapons, maybe grenade launchers and bazookas. Alaskan hunters would display, instead of grizzly bear heads and moose heads, T-rex heads on their homes. Dino meat would be an important part of human diet and niggers would enjoy buckets of fried dinosaurs they get from KFD (Kentucky Fried Dino). If you were to travel to France you'd see very expensive dino skin jackets and purses on sale by Louis Vitton and whatever other expensive name brands. History has had plenty of important catastrophes like the Versuvius eruption which fucked the Romans badly or the Fukushima tsunami, so dino swarms that completely destroy entire cities would make into these lists of important historical natural disasters. In Texas dino rodeos would be popular. Cowboys, knights and samurai would obviously ride velociraptors instead of horses and kings, because of their higher social hierarchy, would ride into battles mounted on a T-rex.

It is right and I'm sure many animals have already learned not to run out infornt of cars. They still have no choice to run across the road much of the time. Behavioral plasticity is the what really determines this.

Is it stress?
Is it genetics?

What is the cause?
5 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
Ask your dad how old he was when he started going grey. It's probably just genetics.
>>
>Counting the individual gray hairs
I think it's autism anon.

Jokes aside, genes play a significant role. There is no significant correlation between stress and premature gray hair. Finally, a vitamin B-12 deficiency or problems with your pituitary or thyroid gland can cause premature gray hair. The final ones are usually irreversible.
>>
I've had gray hair ever since I was ~12. It got worst when I was 16 or so. Now I'm 18 and I have very few again(some here and there, barely noticeable to be honest). It's probably related to stress.
My dad started to have gray hair when he was in his 40's, nowadays he is 47 and has many paths of gray hair.
Also, I'm very mixed between many european "races"(northen italian, french, german, british). I've got light brown hair(used to be blonde when I was a kid), hazel/green eyes, blonde mustache, orange beard, light brown pubes, blonde leg hair, etc.
I'm not OP btw

Okay, this might sound a bit dumb, but it's been bugging me for a while, so I figured I'd post it here. Anyway, here goes:

>What is "knowledge"?

Now, to explain this. Let's pick something you probably don't know. Like say... Doctor Doom once got thrown into the past and fought Megalodons while honing his skills, which led him to living for millions of years. Alright, this is pretty useless info, but still. Now that you've "absorbed" that info, how can you "define" it? Are you a bit heavier now? Does "knowledge" somehow "become mass"? Or is it something "invisible" that just gets "stored" in the "empty spaces" of the brain? Does that mean that the brain has a "storage limit" ?

Basically what he's asking is what's the difference before you gained new knowledge, and after. How do you measure it. What is it?

>>
Neural connections rewiring in the brain.
>>
>>9124542
There is an entire area of philosophy devoted to this. It's called epistemology.

Another interesting question is: what is the criteria for having knowledge? I believe it was the Greeks that first proposed that one knows something iff it's a true belief. But if you believe something for the wrong reasons, then is it really knowledge? This led to adding justification as a requirement for knowledge. So now we have knowledge iff justified true belief. But then gettier came around with some counterexamples to that equivalence so now we're trying to add more conditions to make things work.

In terms of the physical change in the brain, it changes after the development of a belief and this would be identical for true and false beliefs (given that knowledge is a subset of true beliefs). So asking what knowledge would be physically is actually a pointless question because it looks the same as incorrect information in the brain.

I can save you the effort of studying epistemology by summarizing it this way: you can't know if you know, I can't know that either, I think.
>>
>>9124542
Read on some Popper, the guy who formed the falsification principle.
Just search epistemology in general, any good scientist should be acquainted with it.
