Can string theory and quantum mechanics be explained using simple language?
No.
yes, but it takes a gorillion years
Not if you really want to understand it.
I challenge you plebs to prove this infinite sum

Does our biology allow for perfect happiness throughout one's life?
If happiness traslates directly to neurotransmitters, probably no, and for good reason.
Absolutely not. You've watched too many movies.
This is why Trump won
What are some good movies / documentaries about maths?
>>8483018
the only maths in the movie is his name and he knows a lot of pis' digits
>>8483018
kek
It is a good movie though
Goodwill Hunting and A Beautiful Mind are also good movies about math people. Not so much a documentary but rather "based on a true story" but entertaining nonetheless.
There are lots of indications telling us we live in a simulation, but how do we find hard evidence?
Have you considered the fact that there is none, as we are inside the simulation?

Will transhumanism ever become a reality?
>>8482882
it already is, the humanity would be unable to keep the civilisation it currently has without technological augmentation. on the smaller scale, a person cannot compete on a social level with his peers without a computer and a smartphone anymore. the individual fitness of a man is been tied to his technological augmentation, this is transhumanism.
>>8482882
Trans-humans? Are we talking about trannies again?
AGI will destroy us before we can chop off our arms and put better ones on
Now that the dust has settled, what did you guys think about the Universe?
>>8482553
its aight
>>8482553
It's beautiful what God can create when he puts his mind to it.

>Now that the dust has settled, what did you guys think about the Universe?
If the dust had settled the universe would no longer be capable of introspection
This just happened five minutes ago.
I saw an attractive woman in a tight black dress trying to cross a busy road (four lanes). She was standing on the edge of the footpath looking left and right, left and right, for traffic, waiting for an opening.
She did not see me as I had just rounded the corner on the footpath and she did not look back.
I took advantage of the situation by standing directly behind her at a fair distance (I estimate 7-8m) and staring at her ass.
After about a 60 seconds or so she whirls around and looks straight at me with a look of disgust. Somehow she had sensed that someone was behind her staring at her butt, however she would not have had any sensory input (sight, smell, hearing, touch, taste, etc.) that would have led her to sense me.
How can science explain this?
You don't have chad genes.
>>8482279
Venetian mirror or you just masturbated loudly in the middle of a sidewalk
do you know if that was the only time she spontaneously turned around with a look of disgust? for all you know she does this regularly
What kind of technical and/or medical advancements can we expect for gender change in the next 10-20 years?
they will finally realize they're horribly and irreversibly destroying the lives of severely delusion people and start prescribing anti psychotics instead
With any luck, we find a cure to gender dysphoria
What evidence is there that light is a particle and not purely a wave?
inb4 photoelectric effect
The photoemission effect
>>8484542
This is the photoelectric effect. That doesn't prove light is a particle, it just proves electrons need a certain amount of energy to be released.
>>8484552
It does though, you can't explain it with a wave theory, the emission would take much much longer.
The most intelligent man on earth, Stephen hawking, recently stated humans have about 1000 years left on earth. Is it possible for us to colonize mars in 1000 years?
>>8481688
>most intelligent man on earth
>Stephen hawking
>not me
lmao
>>8481693
>not me
Even i, with an IQ of 150, am not equal to Stephen hawking.
I think our lifespan could probably be even shorter over there. Fewer resources, less "stuff" that sustains us, etc. You can't just make that up from thin air with science magix. They're either there or they're not.

>Since the 1970s, the issues regarding the race of the ancient Egyptians have been taboo subject for mainstream United States scientists.[31] The debate has thus been led by the public, focusing on specific issue
>refusal of the Secretary General of the Egyptian Supreme Council ... to release any DNA results which might indicate the racial ancestry
How is this allowed? I ask you!
This refusal directly harms the science, People absolutely need to know who Pharaohs were. We need to stop this degeneracy.
Anyway, what's the scientific guess -- to whom most prominent Pharahos were genetically close?
No one will give you a legitimate response because the political implications of it would imply that Africans truly are that worthless and they've never developed anything. This happens everytime this topic is brought forth. Unfortunately science has become to politicized, when its entire purpose was supposed to be apolitical.
Besides, most if /sci/ is highschool students and freshman anyways.
>>8482746
It is scientifically proven that people in African regions on average have lesser developed brains that other regions of the world.
But, screw science, amirite? Your enforcing racism and your a bigoted sexist cis male who needs to check their privilege.
>>8482732
harms what science? can i dig you up and take some samples from your dickhole when youre dead op?
Why shouldn't everyone's first college semester be Algebra, Biology, Physics and Chemistry?
>>8477338
Because biology, physics and chemistry are gay as fuck.
>>8477338
Why algebra and not analysis? Isn't analysis more useful for science majors?
Because then the colleges would not be able to extract more than one semester of tuition money from the business and nursing majors.
