I found very disturbing that there are infinite uncountable problems which are uncomputable.
>>8541251
Was there something you wanted to discuss, or are you just blogging?
>>8541251
Well you should know that a lot of those infinite "not computable" problems are pretty silly.
For example if you have problems A and B, and they are both uncomputable, you can have a different new problem C which ask you tou solve A and later B, and there you go, C is also uncomputable. Later you can do B&A, or A&A&B... and so on.
Infinite problems... well.

wtf does -1/12 mean? Call me a brainlet but it doesn't make any sense
>>8539392
It doesn't, the sum of all positive numbers is infinite because infinity is infinite. But what can you expect from a poo in loo with no education trying into mathematics?

/sci/, I just finished discrete maths and although I got an A, I struggled with discrete probability a little. It seems to just be applying formulas, however, and I'm an EE, not cs major. I needed it to take complex analysis. Should I bother trying to solidify my knowledge of discrete probability or forget it?
>>8540702
For complex you dont need it at all.
>>8540702
>I struggled with discrete probability a little
The most advanced thing in discrete probability is Bayes law. You're a fucking brainlet.
>>8540719
idk when I took it they had a bunch of weird ass questions. 'how many bracelets could u make with x beads' and shit like that
Anyone know what the hell this is?
It was over an inch long and buzzed very loudly when it was flying. It looks like a black wasp.
Pic related was taken while it was wounded and flopping around. Killed it shortly afterwards. Never seen a bug like this in north Texas before let alone in my house.

Ask /an/
I thought they only had these in utah and arizona. Guess they're spreading. Believe in global warming yet, Texan?
You're lucky it didn't bite you, Texan. They have the most painful venom in the world. You had some balls killing it.

I'm finishing a Fluvial Hydrology class this semester. Worked on a model for predicting stream flow using gauging station discharge data along with stream slope and local lithography.
It'll take a few more weeks to finish the data but I'm too invested to stop even though the semester has officially ended.

Why would we be discussing shit in a geology thread?
Is laziness genetic, or is it only inherited from your environment?
Blogpost: Both my father and mother are very lazy people, which has resulted in them, for example, going into a shit-ton of debt because they were too lazy to pay the rent for a few months. And in general they have pretty shitty attitudes in that they have never led a disciplined lifestyle and they just want to sit around and look on the internet all day, and they have a hard time just enjoying life in general. I love them, but I wish they would realize that a disciplined attitude can reap great rewards, even if it doesn't bring immediate satisfaction. And I look at myself, and I see that I am in many ways just like them. I am an awful procrastinator, and I dread taking on any kind of responsibility. So I think, either through genetics or by being around them for all my life, that I have inherited these traits from my parents. But I try my best to be better than them. I want to break free from these chains.
>>8540356
My mom is lazy by nature, but my dad made her become a less lazy person. Laziness can be overcome if you have the right reasons to do it.

Now that you feel like a non brainlet it may be time to actually become a non brainlet.
Maybe learn PDEs or some shit.
