Where were you when the fact that every single feeling, emotion, desire and thought in your head was nothing more than the byproduct of chemical reactions and that conscious life is a mere hallucinatory vapor of an organic machine's existence?

You'll die.

You'll get high.
It will contribute to inflammation and lower the capacity of your lungs making asthma attacks more unpleasant.

It's not sports' fault no one can come up with anything groundbreaking anymore. The only "advances" in technology you see nowadays is just tweaks and upgrades to our smartphones.

I want to git gud at magnetohydrodynamics through self study. What resources do I use?
Right now I know very little about the subject other than what it is and the fact that I want to learn it, so basic theory might be good place to start. I want to work my way up to computational methods, though.

Bump, I too wish to delve into tokamaks and such
Don't you fucking hate it when you are busy accelerating the entropy of brain via studying, but you need to exercise or your brain derived neurotrophic factor protein will not be produced and your cerebellum will atrophy and will eventually lead to a depressive episode with your brain neuroplasticity suffering?
Anyone else feel this way?

Hey /sci/, I'm looking to get into /diy/ genetic engineering, as it's christmas is I'll have access to a substantial amount of money, and I'm wondering what kind of equipment I could get.
As it's a rather new field, I have two main choices.
and
>http://www.amino.bio/products/bioproductionlab
Both are fairly expensive, but I might be able to afford them after some saving up, does /sci/ have any advice or tips for getting into this? Any tips appreciated.
Bump, advice appreciated
Definitely the first kit if you're deciding between the two.
But consider ebay. You can get a MUCH better thermal cycler for half that price.
Which textbook should a beginner get for linear alg? I've read the wiki, but idk if I should get Lay's or Strang's book
I'm on the quarter system and I'm about to take a course called "Matrix Algebra with Applications" (I assume it's just linear algebra?) (syllabus: http://www.math.washington.edu/Undergrad/courses/308/308syl.php)
So far, I've only take Calc 1-3 (we didn't cover green's theorem or gradient planes in calc 3 because quarter system, that other stuff is covered in a different class called "intro to multivariable calc")
btw i'm a statistics major, maybe will double major in cs or math

>Which textbook should a beginner get for linear alg?
Make a long list of books and start some of them.
Eventually you'll come to like a few.
>>8548940
They're pretty expensive though

How to Win:
To get a solution is easy. Write date and time on it. Use handwriting.
If someone has a solution, he may roll for the solution to get nominated.
Dubs is nominated.
Out of all dubs, i decide who won.
Good luck to you.

when will there be a cure for tinnitus?
Why is finding a cure for tinnitus not top priority?
>>8547046
Try ripping out the entire acoustic nerve.
That'll probably do it.

A few days after you die from stress caused by tinnitus, most likely.
I've had stable-tone tinnitus for my whole life

Now that finals are over and I have some time off, I thought I'd try to study something despite being a pathetic brainlet.
I have this number theory book I got a while back but couldn't get to partly because I'm lazy and partly because of school. My question for you autists: Is it worth learning?
Algebra and analysis seem a lot more interesting but number theory looks like it's better to ease brainlets into "real math".

>>8542944
Absolutely not. Trump will be out in 4 years after his fuckups and failures are mainstream news and a new government will be put into place. People are already freaking the hell out and he's not even in office yet. I think even conservatives are starting to wonder about a man who's putting oil shills in charge of our nation and probably don't want to actually live in a world where polluting is normal.
I will also quote my Fluvial Hydrology teacher. "I'm not handing this nation over to them"
