Haha... mother fucker I go to college in the USA too! I have some classes where people talk a little, some where people are FORCED to talk during group work, and some where no one but the lecturer says a word. That's just untrue that all school attendance counts as "social interaction." I used to not be social in school at all, but I have changed myself for the better.
I actually did force myself to join a club this year as a junior in college, the recycling club, which is why I suggested it. I have made some new friends, and it makes me feel better having something else to do other than go to class, go to work, study, and go to bed to sleep, rinse and repeat. It doesn't require any prior knowledge or experience to go around campus with some nice people collecting paper and soda can bins to recycle.
You're just another robot making endless excuses to ignore any and all advice given, and continue to make no efforts to improve. so you deserve any loneliness or inadequate feelings you have.

Then why would I waste my time suggesting it to someone who so obviously needs help, like I did? I would have stopped attending the club after a week if I didn't enjoy the people and make friends. That was the point of joining, after all.
I have lunch with them at least twice a week now, text them, and skype call one sometimes--all outside of club time. I used to see or talk to no one, outside of mandatory classroom interactions.
Sorry if it pains you so much that I have made successful efforts to improve my life.
If you think just going to class and getting a degree without doing any sort of extracurricular activities is good enough, you're mistaken.
Just keep in mind that another EXTREMELY important part about college is NETWORKING. A degree doesn't always mean much if you have no references or know any people that matter. I was happy that one of the members of the club is a senior, same major as me, and has been offered a great full time position with where he's been completing his internship. He said he would put in a good word for me if I ever apply--some extra help I never would have had before.
