I wouldn't have thought him a niche interest, but /leftypol/ on 8ch would be the best venue? Then again, that might be a little too far left.
It would be nice to have an intelligent forum for the discussion of political ideas, but I don't have any idea where to find a place that reaches that apparently high bar.
