your phoneposter ass isnt welcome here
>>

doesnt matter. i got into med school with a bachelors in math.

i also dropped out after a semester. don't go to med school. it's the most cuck profession in the world, even in the pre-clinical years.
>>
>>39629204
How is it a cuck profession? Explain.
>>
>>39629230
pre-med years: study all the time for class and the MCAT.
pre-clinical years: study like a fucking SLAVE for the most autistic shit imaginable (pure memorization)
clinical years: paying tuition to work in a hospital in 3rd/4th year for 40-80 hours a week
internship/residency: working 6 days a week for 3-5 years, 60-80+ hours a week

all so you can make $200-400k/yr by the time you're in your mid 30s, at which point youre bald and fat from all the stress and bullshit you put up with over the past decade. and on top of that, the ride doesn't end there. you're still going to be working long hours for the rest of your life unless you're smart enough to match into dermatology or you do one of the low-paid specialties like FM, pediatrics, occupational medicine, etc.

like i said, it's a fucking horrible profession for massive cucks or third world shitskins that "like" to work insane hours. i quit after a semester because i hated studying 6-8 hours a day, 6 days a week just to be average. (fun fact: everyone was above average in undergrad. there's a good chance you'll be just average, or even below average in med school!)

You don't need to be a premed major or in STEM to get into med school. You just need an undergraduate degree, good grades, a decent MCAT score, and the prerequisite credits: usually chemistry, physics, math, biology, and some kind of humanities and/or English credit. You'd probably have both the humanities and English credits taken care of. There are a few medical schools that specifically seek out liberal arts majors and don't have prerequisite requirements, but those are EXTREMELY competitive. If you don't fill out the prereqs during your undergrad, you can do a post-bacc to get them or go to grad school and major in something STEM. You also need to do some volunteering and shadowing and to get letters of rec for your application. You can get either an M.D. or an O.D. Both are valid medical degrees that will let you be a doctor, but M.D. schools are more competitive, and O.D. schools make you learn osteopathic medicine for a while. You should talk to a career advisor for information on all this and see the AAMC. Kaplan makes good test prep materials. You need a good score on this test called the MCAT that's basically like the medical SAT or LSAT. It covers a lot of basic science and problem solving skills, and while the problems aren't all that difficult, they do cover a pretty wide breadth of stuff and you'll have to review and do practice questions for it.

Why does everyone on 4chan want to go into medicine?

I'm in med school OP. I'll give you the same rundown I gave /fit/:

This is all just one guy's opinion.

The medical career is underrated. It used to be exclusively for people from privileged backgrounds, children of doctors and other high-earning people, and still is to an extent but they're working on it. Whenever you hear people complaining about it just keep in mind that this population has one of the highest rates entitlement/martyr complexes I've ever seen. Also- you've gotta love working with people. Not just the nice, clean, shiny people but the dirty, mean total fucking messes out there. you can't have unstable mental health and you've got to keep a sense of humor. There is no social status in the world of medicine and if you believe there is, even if you pretend not to, you will make your life a living hell.

But you've got a lot of good coming your way if you hang in there. I'm talking 4 day work week for 300k by the time you're 30 if you start MS1 at 22.

It's crucially important that you get into a good medical school. People are gonna try to tell you they don't matter- they do.

Don't go DO.

You wanna go to as academic and high ranked school as you can. One of the top 40 NIH funded schools would be gud, you'd like to be up that list.

At that point it's P/P (you remediate if you fail and they don't report it to residencies) and you can get into an in-house residency in a major academic hospital in your sleep.

So-
Get above a 510 on the MCAT
Get above a 3.7, get all prereqs.
Volunteer for at least a year in a hospital (med/surg usually takes premed volunteers)

Shadow a specialist and a PCP for more than 40 hours each, get a letter from the one that likes you msot

DO research, go to at least one national conference with it

and finally shadow or do service in a medically related way for an underserved population.

Also start a few service clubs or something.

you got this.
