I thought the writing was horrendous, and excessive. I did the path of the legless girl and uninstalled it.

I do somewhat agree that the writing is not that good, especially when you compare it to 'proper' visual novels.
However i would say Katawa Shoujo is still a good VN due to the circumstances of it's creation, as well as how well they handled each girl's disability

I remember being on the original KS generals on /v/ in Jan 2012. I'd never even heard of it during development and then it consumed my life for weeks.

I only ever played Emi's storyline, but I loved it. Really touched me when I was younger.

I feel old now.
