Is this chart legit? Just end me now
>>39467179
im 18 why am i not happy
>>39467190
You're happy, just wait until you're 50 to know how life can suck
>>39467179
Why would happiness increase after 50? That's basically already dead.
>>39467297
most likely retirement begins for the lucky ones at 50, and obviously no longer wageslaving is gonna make any one happy.
hence the upward trend following that
>>39467297
probably because they're retired and have attained NEET status.
>>39467313
>Implying NEETs are happy
>>39467179
what do the colors represent? ori
>>39467179
>chart pretty much lines up with how my dad's life is going.
great to know it's all down hill from here
>>39467343
Those are different studies which all measured the same thing, moron
>>39467297
>That's basically already dead.
Thus happy again, before that it's all opportunity, once you accept death it get better.
>>39467179
This is where I am at currently in my life.
>>39467179
>It's only going to get worse.
Nice.
>summary of the chart: see image
Tbf, I think I'm more happy at 25 than I have been at any other age. Still miserable, but finishing school soon and the prospect of getting out of the last 8 years of fast food wagecuckery makes every day just a little more golden.
I think it's more because your life sinks into routine and you stop doing new things and challenging yourself. Happiness goes up when you're free again after retirement and can go back to living what you have left of your life
>>39467443
>go back to living what you have left of your life
What exactly do old people do that's so exciting? I think it's just the lack of responsibility and stress free life that raises your happiness, combined with the fact that you already accomplished something/lived your life, so there is no guilt.
>>39467481
Anything's fine when you don't have to work. The happiest I've ever been is living innawoods at my family's summer cabin for a couple months, just fishing, gardening, foraging and doing some other random shit, with shitposting in the evenings via solar power.
Wagecuckery is complete and utter shit compared to proper NEET life, so long as you aren't some depressed fat fuck doing nothing else than lurking and wanking.
>>39467481
Well if you retire at 60, you've just spent 40 years of slaving 40+ hours a week for someone else. Just being free to enjoy the fruits of your labour and given money by da guvvs just to do that is reason enough to double your happiness.
From what I've seen, seniors do a lot of volunteer work. They also have a lot of social events and go on trips and cruises if they have money, or just play games and chat with friends all day. Also, It's definitely related somewhat, check out the stats on STI rates in retirement homes.

seems legit, most suicides are done between the ages 40 and 60.
>>39467179
>19 years old
>arguably at the lowest point of my life
>still happy and getting happier by the day
Idk why I'm like this. I should be miserable.
>>39467297
something something brain chemicals. As you get older you also become more less aggressive and generally accepting of bad shit that happens.
>>39468211
>19 years old
>arguably at the lowest point of my life
>still happy and getting happier by the day
>implying you can cheat the system
>implying this isn't just a local maximum
>implying you're not heading for a major crash
>>39467179
>I'm on the downspin
>I'm already unhappy
so I have to wait until my 50s just to get back to how depressed I was in junior high?

Children are independent now, way less stress but still with the satisfaction of having raised a kid
>18
>supposed to be happiest time in my life
>want to die
neat
>>39468273
I don't know, for me life was ok until 14, then it sucked until I finished school, then university sucked even more, but now that I'm almost done with university I've been feeling a lot better. The graph is just the average normie experience, but it can be different for other people.
>>39469326
>it sucked until I finished school, then university sucked even more, but now that I'm almost done with university I've been feeling a lot better.
>implying this isn't the average normie experience
Don't delude yourself, it only gets worse
>>39469476
How is it the average normie experience when the graph shows the exact opposite? According to the graph I should've been at my happiest at 16, but in reality I was in worse shape then than I am now.
The unhappiness of this graph is because people have kids and have to work like dogs to provide for them.
Married with no kids = the path to true happiness. Try to achieve it one day boyos, gene propagation is a meme
>>39469508
The graph isn't a smooth downward curve, it has local peaks and valleys, it only shows that the average trend is downwards. Nothing you report is contradictory to the graph, and your typical experience with school and university only shows that you are very normal. Soon you will have to work and your happiness will conform to the graph.
>>39467179
>apparently only just now hitting the downswing
>it will get so so much worse
Literally all i needed to justify suicide.
>>39469612
you mean abortion
>>39467179
My happiness:
16: bottom (not happy)
17-18: middle
19-20: top (happy)
21-25: middle
26: happy
27-29: bottom
>>39467179
i've always heard that happiness is the lowest from 20-30, and keeps going up after that
because you have so much expectations for yourself in that age and from 30 on you've succeeded in some of those expectations and stopped caring about the others
your wealth and social skills are also only improving and it's much easier getting new jobs since you're experienced and much more (unless you're neet obviously, but they're not the majority of the population)
I was miserable from the ages of 14 to 19. I'm 21 now and I feel like a kid again. Maybe the Prozac and antipsychotics helped. I'm super happy when I'm not with strangers.
