to be fair, it is hard to take Miura's violent, thick lines and dark theme into anime
basically, when he draw something, it feels heavy and powerful because of his way of drawing. And he draws that way because he doesn't need to focus on drawing multiple frames of one scene while keeping the detail at the same level. Any studio that should attempt to do this will 100% either fail miserably, or get so poor they'll end up making isekai shit

I like Gurren Lagann because it always snaps me out of my depression for a little while after I watch it, and I like Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood because it's got awesome fights and endearing characters and awesome lore and a perfectly executed story arc.

I have the attention span of a 5 year old with adhd, I cannot read books/comics/manga on my computer, because there is much more things that I could be doing on it, but recently I went to the Library, picked up JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga and I am really enjoying it. Bakemonogatari, SHAFT was on top of its game back then. The characters were fresh, and each arc was interesting in a different way. Great imagery as well. It's a shame that the franchise tanked so hard after Monogatari Second Season. The narrative is getting more and more convoluted, Nisio is tired. Please just let it die with Owarimonogatari 2, I thought Kizumonogatari was supposed to mark the end.

It does such a great job of portraying what adulthood looks like, albeit in a bit different setting than the modern world.
Regardless the key elements are there: tragedy, loss, poverty, dealing with the past and the importance of living in the moment.

For anime, I'd say my #1 is Cowboy Bebop, Mushishi being a close second.

The atmosphere in Mushishi is amazing, and the stories have some interesting philosophies that could be applied to real life. Also it's 11/10 comfy.

I've watched (seasonal) anime for like 15 years now and at times 10+ shows per season, it's not too hard. I don't have 500+ shows watched because there were plenty of times where I didn't have time to follow that many, but among longtime anime watchers that's a fairly feasable number.

I've given up on anime since the majority of the time it is worse than the manga it's based on and doesn't have a high enough budget to be anything other than slideshows with voices or explosions everywhere to hide the fact that nothing is animated. The lmost recent few TV anime I actually enjoyed were Tiger Mask W, Space Dandy and Ping Pong. Space Dandy in particular was incredible in every aspect and should be remembered amongst the best stuff but won't be for various reasons. I've yet to watch an anime series/OVA better than Giant Robo, possibly Patlabor and Golden Boy are as good.

I read shitload more manga than I watch anime since there's much more of it and there's a lot more variety. I'm looking forward to Devilman Crybaby coming out since Devilman is arguably the best (but really the second best) manga ever made.

I always thought that weeaboos were the kind of people who were only ever into really entry level shit and idolise Japan as being some sort of heaven for their loser arses and shit talk anything that isn't from Japan, and most of them never seem to read any manga at all. Although they usually grow out of it, at least I hope they do since anyone who only watches anime in Japan is seen as a huge faget whereas manga is for everyone.

For one people didn't make manga with those sort of themes back then, the dark setting, the futility of humanity in the later chapters, the violence etc. were all pretty mad for the time. It might not seem a big deal now since lots of people have done it but that all came from Devilman. The ending was spectacular as well. Not to mention the art style was good. The only thing I can think of which was a bit like Devilman which came before it was Skull Man, but even then not quite. The last thing which could be said of it is that Devilman in it's original format is still very enjoyable to this day, which is impressive despite how often it's been ripped off.

I actually don't think it's the best manga of all time, that would be Ashita no Joe. And my favourite manga is Fist of the North Star but I think objectively speaking Devilman is better than it. I already doubt that Devilman Crybaby will live up to the hype but Yuasa is one of the few people who has made an anime which I thought was better than it's original manga in Ping Pong, so maybe he can do it again.

samurai champloo is a classic long story short think cowboy beepop but now not in the future ans with samurais. its a simple plot with alot of heart filled moments with an amazing soundtrack by nujabis (sorry if i mispelled his name) with great visuals and tone overall a great series that again is kinda like cowboy beepop in terms of a group of people ( in this case a group of 3) and their just traveling around and random shit happens and there will be moments that kinda explains each character and why they are who they are....but overall great series you know i know we all know it
