Drugs and/or Meds

Question about xanax.
I read xanxax removes fear and anxiety. I feel fear and anxiety when i think about doing things to address areas of my life i need to improve e.g. Going to the gym.

Will xanax help with this? Without abusing the drug.

Yes, it's fucking incredible for actually allowing you to do stuff. However, when you first start taking it, it may make you very sleepy, and possibly even intoxicated, as if you were drunk. You'll be much more uninhibited, as well. You may also not remember the entire first two weeks of taking it (like me lmao), but if you can survive through that, it's a godsend for anxiety.

Hi Dr. I have lots of anxiety. So much so that I have X panic attacks every X. It's starting to/has been interfere/ing with my daily life greatly, so I'm basically nonfunctional at this point. Wait till you build up tolerance to xanax.

Tolerance starts building up even if you take it once in a while.It just does.

How fast it happens varies from person to person, but one day normal doses just won't have effect on you anymore and at later time you will start feeling withdrawal symptoms because current dose just stops working at all.

When withdrawal symptoms happen, whatever you were taking xanax for will come back but 2x - 4x worse.

In this case people usually come back to psychiatrist crying and begging him for getting prescribed higher dosage of drug. First time it will be prescribed, but tolerance build up won't stop, you will reach a point where psychiatrist can't prescribe you any higher dose and you feel horrible.

When you reach maximum prescribable dosage you're fully addicted to xanax. This will happen within months and at best within years.

Quitting cold turkey is certain death. Lowering dosage is all you can do. People who i knew who withdrawed from xanax did it at best for 2 - 4 years, those 2 - 4 years of lowering dosage of xanax were literal hell for them. Some of them ended up in psych ward, others were prescribed high dosages of antidepressants cause they were getting suicidal.

I've already built up a tolerance - it's why it only has the anxiolytic effects for me at the moment. I definitely know how withdrawals work - I've been through them before. Not with Xanax, but close. And it's not even 'certain' death. It's just possible as a result of the seizures it can cause.

A 2-4 year taper is pathetic. It can absolutely be done in a month, MAX. Yeah, you feel shitty. You're not meant to feel good. But that's the whole point of tolerance breaks.
