To a question in the former /fitness/ general, an anon asked if lifting would help you get woman.

Lifting WILL help you get women, non-disputing, if you look like you take care of yourself and have a moderate fitness level they will love that, it instinctively shows a man who can provide and has discipline. However, women have preferences, and many are picky, if you get rejected wipe the dust off your shoes and move on.

Furthermore, they key is that in the vast majority of people, it will give you CONFIDENCE, which is #1.

Water and rest muscles that you were working the day before. Dont over exert yourself, you should not be taking multiple days off because of recovery. Find a balance between a challenging workout and low recovery times.

If you are a beginner I would assume you are experiencing DOMS, which occurs when microtears happen in the muscle, microtears are good because it tells your body that it needs to grow larger.

DOMS go away quickly after two weeks or so, and it is perfectly normal. When the burn goes away don't worry, you're muscle groups have just become accustomed to the exercise.

This is also why famous bodybuilders like Arnold Schwarzenegger like to switch it up, so every muscle group is shocked with a different exercise.

Im a beginner yes. But I just should lift as much as I can right? Push myself to the edge when I hit the gym. heared some things about avoiding 'going to faillure'. Makes me sort of insecure because I dont know what's good then.

This is based on the idea of over training, which definitely does exist, but has no bearings on your situation.

I would advise you go as hard as you can without injuring yourself, don't go too heavy and try failure until you've been lifting for a few months and have a firm grip on your limits. Injuries are no fucking joke, and they WILL happen if you aren't careful.

Follow the Starting Strength program by Mark Rippetoe and educate yourself with it's exercises, that should do you well, good luck anon.
