Any of you guys do it? I've been writing down random thiughts for a while and now I have no idea how to organize it if I want to find a situation I used to think about.

I've heard of something... believe it was called mind mapping(?) where people write down their thoughts and organize them. Last I heard, someone was working on a phone app to help streamline it.

Thanks anon I'll check it out. I also have a lot of bookmarked websites so I'll have to find a way to list those without forgetting about something I thought was interesting
Any if you guys keep journals?

Yeah I keep a diary. It's good for loners like me, I get to write down what I feel, re-read it, and reflect.
I genuinely think it's made me a better person and I highly recommend keeping one.
Plus, it's really fun to look back on old journals. Even if they're depressing.

Do you organize it by day? I'm concerned about wanting to find something and having to go back through all the days. However I've got a lot of situations I feel uncomfortable with or ideas like that. I'm thinking I'll tier my ideas by importance in evernote. That and maybe I'll keep some in folders like wants and issues with being happy

Yep. The first line of each new entry is the date and time.
If you're concerned about finding ideas, make an index/table of contents on the back of the journal. Then seperate the journal into 3 colors using those mini sticky notes for marking books for school.
After an interesting entry you can write a quick, easy-to-remember description of the thought in the index with the color.
That should save you some time to find it

Cool stuff thanks for the advice anonymous

I've been thinking about it. Definitely want to keep at least a dream journal but will probably extend it to any and all surreal thoughts I have. Hopefully years down the line I'll have some sort of access to cameras/talent in drawing etc and I'll be able to recreate them. That sounds pretty cool to me.

I've been keeping a dream journal. No luck on lucid dreaming yet though. Last dream I was in some like cel-shaded overgrown environment between two abandoned apartment buildings with a bright beige color like harsh sun on old stone and I had to find a pumpkin in the back of some guys yard

I'm not that interested in achieving that. It'd be cool though. A few nights ago I had a dream that an African earth god was turning me and my friends into clay and back in a room made of blinds with light shining through. It was pretty neato

I also don't dream(remember them) if I don't keep a journal so there's that too. It's nice to look back on wacky shit and it can be an alright conversation topic
