Yep. Found out about reddit because of this place years ago. I just browse the headlines though because the comments are garbage and usually just lame jokes. /r/geopolitics is actually interesting though.

The website is for fucking normalfags, the discussion isnt interesting its just an echo chamber of compliments and upvotes and anybody who dares have an opinion that is even the slightest bit controversial gets "downvoted" effectively silencing them.

I only go on Paradox games subs because it's the easiest way to find dev diaries, other than that and nofap I stay away from it altogether.

I've been going to 4chan since 2006 and I've been on reddit since about 2013. As I've gotten older, I find myself on reddit much more often. If you stay away from the main subreddits, the site is better. 4chan will always hold a special place in my life though. I'll always come back, albeit less and less frequently.

Never posted there, but I'll admit I've gone to r/traps a lot.

I go to Reddit because it's nearly impossible to have a legitimate, serious conversation on 4chan without someone bringing up Jewish tricks or pajeets or gays or single moms or whatever new fresh buzzmeme is the hot new thing. Reddit is a nice place to go for actual advice.
I still spend the majority of my internet time on 4chan, though. but I've made the distinction that 4chan is solely for shitposting these days. it is never to be taken seriously as a form of discussion.

I also like to avoid the bigger subreddits because that's where it becomes normie central. reddit is basically facebook nowadays. essentially, the entire internet kind of sucks.

I used Reddit pretty consistently between 2012 and 2015. Then I left when all of the election bs and berniebros were everywhere.

I tried reddit once. It feels too connected to the real world for me: similar to facebook, snapchat, instagram, etc especially with people like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Neil deGrasse Tyson popping in and out. I think that's why I keep coming back here, it's the only place that feels like the old internet, a completely separate entity from real life. Plus 4chan is inherently weeb so I'm free to use anime on any board.

I've been a redditor for 5 years. I started there and mostly moved here, although reddit is really great for tons of high quality porn. don't use it for much else though. there's also a few subreddits for different bands I like I visit sometimes, but I haven't done that in probably a year.

I find it much easier to get serious advice on Reddit. For example, let's say you just bought a new MIDI controller (and let's say it's a midifighter) and you're having trouble setting it up. You followed the manual exactly, but something's wrong.
So you saunter over to /mu/'s /prod/ general and post about it there because you're not sure if this problem is serious enough to contact customer service over.
If you get any response at all, you're going to get something along these lines;

and then a picture of a cat that appears to be smiling smugly at the viewer. That's if you get a response at all. BUT if you head over to a subreddit like r/WATMM and ask about it there, you're a bit more likely to get a post that actually helps.

I use Reddit for participating in video game communities that don't have very large fanbases, so Reddit becomes the best option for talking with others. Best example I can give is Shadowverse. It's English playerbase isn't very big, and Reddit is pretty much the only place where I can talk with others who play it

I have been a moderator for the only subreddit I've ever been active in for over half a year now. It's a sub made for a rap collective that mostly consists of diehard fans, so I've been able to get inside stuff, interaction with the artists I appreciate, and more by using the sub. I lurk on /fa/ sometimes and tried to branch out to r/streetwear, but the first comment I made pointing out a typo on someone's ridiculously overpriced anime grim reaper looking hoodie got me into an argument with an enraged retard. I haven't been back there since.
Imho, Reddit is okay for small, select communities, but if you're looking for broad topic things or entertainment (via browsing), there are better outlets.

Not gonna lie I do have an account. Its great for finding specific and niche topics and interests, but the default subs are almost all complete cancer that must be avoided, especially the political ones. Generally speaking discussions go better here even with all the autists on this site considering it doesn't have the stupid upvote/downvote system and 4chan has a greater sense of anonymity, so I tend to not bother with comments.

Yea same here, I got here in 2008 and there in ~2013. I went there because I started playing Dota 2 and the general here is fucking shit. Eventually I stopped coming here for anything other than porn but have come back recently.

Both sites have a similar rule: just know which parts are good and which aren't and stick to the ones that are.

I don't play SV anymore but I remember they had good guides on Reddit for it. For a lot of games the subreddits for them are better than the generals here, but it depends on the game.

Used to but I quit about 2 years ago. Been clean ever since except 3 weeks ago when I checked r/all. Now there's a BlackPeopleTwitter, BlackPeopleGifs and a 'wholesome' Black people twitter and a Whitepeoplegifs. All of it praises black people while whitepeoplegifs makes fun of white people.
