It's true. You should do it. Putting the beds together allows you to utilize squarebfootage better in one larger are rather than dispersing square footage of open space around the room
I don't think that's true, even when pushed together the beds occupy the same space in the room, unless there are some other furniture in the dorm room that make playing tetris a viable idea. I can't really imagine any such furniture at the moment though, could you explain OP?
