Polish guy here, while a homeowner myself I know plenty of people living in commieblocks and from time to time I have stayed in a couple for a few days at the time.
I suppose this is something one could grow accustomed to and just tune out but from my perspective it's just terrible.
Flats are small and usually the building are not very well oriented towards the sun and such so you might get hard sun all day long or none at all, which sucks. Buildings are poorly insulated from the outside and the walls and floors are very thin meaning you will hear your neighbor as much as speak above whisper level as he says god bless to you after he heard you sneeze through the wall. Same goes for flushing or even having a piss. Some people can't bare it and some embrace it and just live shameless like animals. For generations now commieblocks are also nests of poverty and degeneracy, marked by filth in the buildings and in their immediate surroundings. Rule of a thumb is that the closer you are to a block district the more likely you are to get mugged and such.
This shit is not nice, not comfy and not very livable, it breeds misery.
Most of this was built so that people from bumfuck nowhere who never had flushing toilets or knew how to read could move into cities and work in factories and it shows.

Depends on the area of the commieblock and your neighbors, the houses them self are pretty ok, issues come with shit neighbor and noise leaking (domestic dispute, loud parties, midnight repairs etc)

I'm romanian and I used to live in a commieblock. This was my experience as well. Also, idk how these blocks are built in Bulgaria, but ours have the garbage chute inside the building. When that shit clogs it can get really smelly
