If it's in a mall you will be greeted by security in a fast manner, they watch that shit both on cameras and in person because they don't want shops to go under or leave so they can and will pursue you and are in the rights to detain you. Depending on how serious theft is in the area will effect how they will deal with you after that, if it's bad you will be met with a court date to fight a fine and even a chance at community service. If it's rather uncommon rare and you don't look like a repeat offender they will just ban you from that mall.

Fast food margins are something in the realm of 5-6%. Yeah the food itself often is marked up 200-300% over the cost of ingredients, and specific things like soft drinks and alcohol can have absurd margins although not 900%, but after dealing with shit like heating, lease, paying employees, dealing with fucking theives like yourself, the margins aren't that big.
