>want to work in construction no matter how difficult it is
>working out and exercising for past year to prepare for it
>parents still going to make me go to college
>only have $8k so cant just move out at 18
any construction workers here?
>>38965534
>only have eight thousand
what's with this retarded millenial generation(people born after the year 2000)?
When I turned eighteen, they kicked me out and I had no dollars. That's probably why you guys are all such failures. You stay in the nest and never have to learn to fly. I mean, there are tons of reasons you guys are failures, not just that one, but that might be a big one.
>>38965578
$8k is like 4-5 months in or near a city
>>38965590
zero dollars is like zero months in a city
say more retarded things why don't you, dumbass?
>>38965607
idk i am stupid
>>38965534
construction management or look for day labor/helper jobs and apply for whatever locals youre interested in.
dont be a tin knocker; brickies and laborers are your best bets if you genuinely just want to bust your ass all day
>>38965644
Indeed you are, friendo.
>>38965578
Probably because of the exorbitant amount of inflation that your fuckin nigger generation caused and the ability to sustain yourself on just any job being that much harder as the increase in inflation was not matched with the increase in wages causing us to be more careful with our money and have a much larger sum of money to fall back on.
>>38965760
careful son, you're not talking to a dumbass right now. I know what the minimum wage is and I know it covers rent. we'll take the cheapest rent too, which I think is that hostel for the transients downtown. 300 or so a month.
A minimum wage job pays ten dollars an hour. Working that full time will give you 1600 dollars, and you'll be poor enough that all the taxes come back to you at the end of the year. You'll have more than enough for the cheapest rent. Heck, you could spend up to a thousand dollars a month in rent and still afford it and food on top of that.
The truth is, you guys are just pathetic and it's nobody else's fault.
"Construction Worker" is such a broad term. Electricians work on construction sites, so do Low Voltage workers, Drywall installers, plumbers, AC guys, Stucco guys, Carpenters, Tile guys, etc. What trade interest you in specific?
I run cabling for low voltage systems, like security, networks, cameras, phone data etc. I work on construction sites so I'll answer any questions I can
>>38965885
Just basic manual labor I suppose
>>38965866
>A minimum wage job pays ten dollars an hour.
In what fucking world?
>>38965928
Why do you like the idea of doing menial labor for a living? Shit reks your body over several years
>wanting to work a labor intensive job
Enjoy your terrible knees and generally broken body

I don't like using my brain and don't want to deal with office politics like my siblings. My father has done manual labor for 40 years and is only now feeling the adverse health effects
>>38965578
maybe if your generation raised us differently this wouldn't happen
>>38966035
You can still get jobs that don't require a brain and aren't heavily labor intensive. Hell, most jobs don't require a brain at all and could be done by any monkey with a few weeks on the job training, but the job market is so competitive that job requirements are highly inflated
>>38965928
....why? I hope you like Mexicans man. If your going to bust your ass all day you might as well a skill while you're doing it. Trust me man you're gonna do manual labor even if your an electrician. Power gets run to side houses and backyards all the time. How do you think they do that? They dig nigger! You dig and run PVC to where it's needed and cover it back up.
Tile might be good for you. Those guys carry 50lb bags of Thinset all day, and big boxes filled with tile. Working in a two story house? Have fun carrying that shit upstairs.
You can bust your ass man but learn a trade so you can make more than 9.00$ an hours
>>38966067
You can blame others all you want, you might even be right, for all the good it does you. Or you could do something about it.
>>38965983
>Shit reks your body over several years
Only if you're a retard about it, or go find the shittiest possible work that even illegals make good money doing because it's so shitty, then proceed to be a complete idiot about safe lifting, eat like every night is a frat party, etc.
>>38966035
I'm with you, I've done various labor jobs for the past four years from electrician's apprentice to painting. The health effects in any 1st world country I'm aware of are miniscule, as long as you follow basic health/safety guidelines and quit fairly soon if your workplace doesn't let you (Which is illegal to begin with, and you can notify OSHA or the police after quitting if you want, although I personally never have.)
Your first job should just be whatever and wherever, stay there for a few months at least if you can. After you have one decent entry on your resume and a few basic skills/knowledge of what a worksite is really like, it's far easier to get a job in the industry. Last time I was looking for a job, and I mean seriously searching rather than just sitting in my room all day making maybe two apps but mostly playing vidya and drinking, it took me about 24 hours to land a fulltime position in a town(not city) 250mi away with no interview and an immediate/ASAP start date. Within 3 days I'd had two other employers calling me offering me higher-paid positions.

Oh yes because we all know that living in Canada (5 percent of which is habitable) has the same cost of living in the god damn US of fucking A which has even fatter cats in their ivory towers and dont even bother trying to live in any place that is remotely close to the east or west or south of the US because that would only make things worse. The only option you have is be an agrarian piece of shit in Kansas and forever rot working a meaningless job or if you're dumb enough, go to Jew York to get your entire savings wiped clean and fall 30,000 dollars in debt
>>38966183
I thought america was the greatest country on earth though? Don't you have a lot of extra cash because of the value of the dollar and the low taxes from no healthcare?
I would presume that you can live comfortably and you're just terrible, but I can give you the benefit of the doubt, I suppose.
At any rate, why are you so averse to Kansas? And what's the difference between meaningless and meaningful work? Does it pay differently?
>>38965534
>8k
That's more than I have...
Is construction your first job? If so, where did this 8k come from? I've been working for six months now and I don't have that much.
