Next thing I'll probably buy will be an orange pi zero, for thirteen dollars including shipping, but I haven't because I don't want to wait for it to get here. I have basically trash laying around that ought to be enought to turn it into my new machine, non-android this time. It will be hopefully debian lxde, because I like the way that one looks, and how so many distros are based on debian now days. And I haven't used a linux hardly ever. And want to escape the botnet, of course.

Plus I remember reading that a debian distro for that model didn't support vga. So if I take that xp and put the distro on it, yeah, I'd need to spend more money than I ought to fix the mutilated laptop.

And I live in fracking FL. I've been waiting to go outside to get ramen from a winndixie, but it's so hot I just stay here for days eating old noodles from a church, years old in our cupboards.

But the driver could be bad and xp could work. Not that buying a monitor is all that cheap. Every time an old CRT is thrown away on craiigslist it's too far away or gone by the time I get there. And carrying home a big ass CRT would make me die out here during this hell-weather.
