>there are people in 2017 who genuinely believe that god is real
wew
>there are people in 2017 who genuinely dismiss an infinitely dense behavioral record containing the accumulated wisdom of 10,000+ years of human history because they can't comprehend the complex and nuanced metaphors required to accomplish such a feat, so their cognitive dissonance chalks the entire phenomenon up into "lol theres no sky daddy im so smart ;)"
Christ frowns upon you. It's not too late to make Him smile.
I can't speak to every deity, but God/Adonai/Allah/Yahweh is definitely not real.
I want to believe oregona
I REALLY wish that god is real.
I wish I was a christian again.
Being confused about the origins of the universe and your fate sucks a lot more.

All that matters is you are a biological lifeforms and you will cease to perceive things soon and nothing with change that.

It's okay kids, I too thought I was le smarts when at age 12 became an athiest.
I too couldn't even fathom how le dumdum people could believe in le spaghetti monstar given to my knowledge EVERYTHING was explained by Science.
I too felt superior and felt to urge to mock dumdum theists on the internet.
Then as I grew up I started looking at things more in depth, and started to get interested in other topics.

I felt the same, but couldn't bring myself to believe in any one God. So I found Buddhism and started believing in myself. It's a little weird, and I don't follow the rules exactly because I believe the purpose is to be the best you, not the best rule follower, but it gives me the hope and understanding I need without the constant "am I believing in the right god" questions every night.

>Why do I feel my own emotions and not other persons?
You're a psychopath.
How is this still not obvious?
Humanity itself has never and will never learn from it's mistakes. Humans have endlessly committed horrors, mostly in the name of religion, throughout history without learning anything from the past.
Religion has become one big mistake. That will never be learned from and thus never cease to be.
I wish I could believe in God, it does seem to give people a lot more purpose and fulfilment, as well as being linked to lower rates of depression.
But I was raised without religion, parents weren't fedora tipping atheists or anything, we just weren't religious.
It's resulted in me being unable to believe in any deity, no matter how much I try.
It's like trying to convince somebody that the Greek pantheon exists, it's just not going to happen.

>Humans have endlessly committed horrors, mostly in the name of religion, throughout history without learning anything from the past.
also in the name of other ideologies like communism
what is your point?
>>38818976
Humans endlessly commit horrors with or without religion. The only difference is that for most of human history, religion has been the only thing that actually said to not do that shit as much.

>not believing in the pantheon
No wonder you're depressed.

If you did, you wouldn't be talking shit about people believing in god, since you believe in one too.
