When I was young, younger than before
I never saw the truth hanging from the door
And now I'm older see it face to face
And now I'm older gotta get up, clean the place
And I was green, greener than the hill
Where flowers grew and sun shone still
Now I'm darker than the deepest sea
Just hand me down, give me a place to be
And I was strong, strong in the sun
I thought I'd see when day was done
Now I'm weaker than the palest blue
Oh, so weak in this need for you
still waiting to listen to this. Of course lift yr fists was brilliant, this is the second best in their discography right?

Does GY!BE make anyone else cry?
It's the most emotionally-charged, impactful music I've ever heard. I know I have just pleb, entry-level tastes but what I've listened to is awesome.
I seriously just close my eyes and take it in.
Any other great post-rock bands?

I remember shitting myself at that whole intro back in 1999 when it first came out, it being right after my birthday. Sitting in my older brother's room while he was gone and staying up waaaay past my bedtime, so there was already some spookiness to getting caught. It was the first game that actually scared me beyond the usual "boo!" kind of scares.

I posted this in a thread earlier but any robots who didn't know that Men At Work wrote a theme song for us...you're quite welcome

I actually was born IN 1999 (I'm 18 pls don't ban) but be first Silent Hill game I ever saw was SH4. My dad used to play it and it scared me but I used to beg him to play it for me because I loved it so much. I've grown to be a big fan of the franchise and they're some of my favorite games out there.
Your story actually makes me kinda smile just because I like thinking back to how the game must have been at that time. I can't even imagine.
i like synth wave desu

I know exactly what you mean and YES GY!BE has made me cry at times. It's an outpouring of emotion that I can't describe, it's so intense and subtle
I like Ryo Fukui. Can anyone here rec me some more good jap jazz?

Yeah I love Resident Evil as well but it's very very campy as good as it is. Silent Hill does a far better job when it comes to scares and atmosphere.

Song always gets me...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3oJm2S5F-7w
English Translation:
like my dreams are a tent I'm turning inside out
the pattern made of happier times becomes plain and boring again
just like paper rots and turns yellow
all my words freeze up inside this machine
knock knock knock
embracing a silent space,
hitting the walls uselessly,
leaving everything unsaid
knock knock knock
embracing the pitch black night sky,
traveling into the boundless universe...
welcome to loneliness
loneliness... loneliness
at the city left at the bottom of the sea
your smile disappears into a green shadow
you speak to me only of regrets
like Othello, while breaking up light
knock knock knock
overflowing with the heartbreak of our fantasies
a flood in my mouth and ears and eyes;
the all-pervasive media is soaked up by my brain
knock knock knock
because of the loss of gravity
I realize my empty uselessness...
welcome to loneliness
loneliness... loneliness

Yeah it's pretty nice to have the good ones ready to play whenever. I actually just recently bought a vinyl record of Silent Hill 1's soundtrack, still sounds great. Definitely made the game for the most part, shit is still extremely unsettling. Actually sleeping with the light on dimly since I can't get some of the sounds out of my head, haha.

It's the only Jazz scene I'm not too well versed in. If it's anything like Ryo Fukui then it's gotta be pretty damn good. Thanks for vid btw
