SSRI unappreciation thread i am on lexapro now. it is shit.

I'm on wellbutrin xl but technically that's not an ssri. It's alright. I'm in my head getting shitty about myself a lot less since taking it. Get wicked dry mouth though.

The only ssri that has ever worked for me was celexa and that stopped when I turned 18. Since then I've tried most of them and am currently on Lexapro. Everything that I've tried has felt so watered down and useless.

Nah, Sertraline has given me the best times of my life. Yes, it has some side effects like not being able to cum nearly as easily and stuff, but it's easily worth not feeling like shit all the time and thus actually going out and talking to people. Fucking love antidepressants.

I'm very fucking depressed. I honestly don't have any real problems in life (not poor, not ugly, no illnesses, have some social life, etc.) but here I am I seriously feel very bad but I don't want to just kill myself and throw everything into the trash.
I'm going to a psychiatrist in two days. I suppose he will put me on benzos or anti depressants, but I'm very worried that antidepressants won't work because of all the shit people talk about them. I mean it doesn't seem to work for everybody not to mention the side effects.
I have seen psychiatrists in a mental hospital because of insomnia back in last april. They put me on 10mg valium for one month (it stopped being effective) then 2.5mg clonazepam for two months. I quit cold turkey (it has been 6 weeks now) so I think I am may be on witdrawal.

Give them a chance, literally everyone I've talked to has nothing but the highest praise for them (or Sertraline specifically, since I guess it's the most popular one). Even a mate who's off it says that they felt amazing and he missed them.

Yeah it does make you feel less anxious about work and stuff, true, but I feel like going off Sertraline to deal with a poor work ethic is both far too over the top and not even that likely to work. Though I have a much shittier reason for going off myself xD
