Well, you've gotten really far if you are only attached to the most basic things in life instead of getting flustered over the most pointless of things like most people do. Minimalism is often really helpful for that purpose.

Though one could argue that these things you require you could still be lacking of them some day, even if it's for a short while, and suffer a lot for it. Very little people are mentally prepared for things like homelessness or hunger, and when it happens to them they become crazy.

I can't even imagine how strong would be someone's frame of mind not to feel miserable were they ever to become homeless or hungry, yet the feeling of being free from the need to have a fixed place to sleep must be very liberating, just waking up in "the world" every day. It'd take some real balls to go out there and decide to be homeless for a while.

I have known hunger, i have also know the dread of homelessness when i gambled and won to be able to live another month indoors
Even in hunger i knew i could at worst eat fish from a dirty river or go forage in the forests, and in homelessness i knew ive been to camping and i would just have to amp up the need for fishing, foraging and figuring out new sources of food
I guess some of us take the hard road to reach the same point, but what matters is that we get there

Getting through hunger was one of the most humbling things I ever happened to me and I'm glad I experienced it.

It made me value nutrition in a way it's very hard to explain. Ever since I don't care so much about the taste of things but what it gives me.
