I don't like humble. I prefer realistic.
Because a realistic man can sometimes appear arrogant. When talking to laymen about something I am specialized in, its realistic for me to insist on what I know to be true, rather than be humble and give the benefit of the doubt to what I know to be false.
Very often humble and realistic coincide, as very often we are in a situation where we aren't masters and specialists, but this isn't always the case. Sometimes being humble is acting against facts and reality.

Maybe of you are wearing winter clothes, to keep claws and teeth out so your muscles survive and you can hit its face, eyes, and so on.
Bear jaws aren't strong enough so that you can't keep them open with your arm strength, but their limbs are very, very strong, so you need to get close and prevent them from giving you a knock out slap.

I remember some book (fiction) I was reading had a bear hunter native basically hug the bear, that way it can't hit him with its limbs (he is too close) and he had the top of his head under its jaw, so it can't bite. He then just stabbed at it, and it eventually died, since animals can't control blood flow, temperature, etc stuff as good as humans, you can tire and exhaust them and then kill them.
