In an 18 year old and feel like a failure. Ive had a job, I've saved up money, ive had a good internship. I'm going to college with free tuition because of scholarships, and yet I feel so depressed. Other people my age are partying and what not, and I feel so alone. I dont have any friends and I hate my life. What can I do to change this?
I'm 27 and I've never done any of that. You're still good to go.

Drink alcohol. Alcohol makes everything better in social situations. Trust me.

Before any parties/social group situations, take 3 shots of hard liquor. Yeah, at first you won't like it, but you'll get used to it. Then begin to observe how you act with the alcohol in your system in social situations. After you figured out how you behave under the influence, begin to emulate it when you are sober.

You're 18. There's college to look forward to. I'm not promising you that it's a magical cure-all, but it is a great place to pick up certain social skills. It's a place where the workload is not that intensive as opposed to a job, and people there are generally a bit more accepting of people's quirks. My recommendation, take a year abroad if you can. The exchange student communities are breeding grounds of social interaction, and since you usually don't know these people and will likely never see them again, there's a certain incentive for you to get out of your shell a bit.
