If I could come round your house I'd encourage you kouhai. Yes it takes time but when you see it come together it's a good feeling. Each individual unit of a combo, the permutations of it adapted for different situations, how different combinations fit together or do not. It's like learning a language and fighting is like using it. You have to start with letters, then words before you can move onto sentences. At that stage you can figure out what you actually want to say and begin a conversation.
