Tokyo's an awesome place to go on vacation to. It's like a country in itself. Moving there? No. You'll never survive and it's fucking hard.

No. It's the same, if not worse than America. Days are more draining, and the people don't even speak your native tongue. The houses are generally much comfier, because they're smaller, but it's crowded and draining and generally worse. Go if you want. Make sure you have a job, though, because Japan has really strict immigration laws. Also, please at least know some of the language. Like hiragana, katakana, and some basic kanji, as well as lots of vocab. Their culture is very different from ours, for better or for worse, and there is honestly no way a Westerner will ever fully embrace every aspect of it. Just expect to be treated as an outsider at all times.

Ive been living in Japan for almost two years now and so far I enjoy it. I don't live in a really big town so there's not alot to do other than go to the beach and eat good food. The people there are extremely nice and surprisingly alot of people there speak fairly decent English. They love to help you to if you look lost or something. There's not much of a price difference on things here. You can take a train just about anywhere you want to go. I go to Osaka and Hiroshima almost every month. I wouldn't move to Hiroshima or Tokyo just because there are so many people there and the price for a decent apartment or house can be pretty pricey. Overall it's not that bad tho.

You will never, ever be seen as one of them.

Even if you speak the language perfectly, marry a Japanese girl and get citizenship you will always be an outsider and treated so.

The Japanese treat you as a novelty at first, but the longer you stay the more the resentment of you will build
