but the whole thing went off the rails when people realized that, vaguely, the subject at hand was REALLY a facet of a larger culture war that's been going on for some time. and so people who wanted to get mad about either side of the issue suddenly had their chance to get mad about it. it was obviously disingenuous for the "pro-GG" to claim that their intentions were to criticize/agitate for reform in gaming journalism; it was likewise disingenuous for the "anti-GG" to claim that what the gamers were really mad about was the fact that they just hate women uncontrollably. this seems obvious in hindsight but at the time the rhetoric on both sides was absolutely insane and prevented a lot of people from thinking it through very clearly.

someone once described the whole thing as "an ouroboros of autism" and that's about as accurate as anything i've read on the subject

Most "leftists" (as in people who shun liberals and identify more with socialism/anarchism/etc.) hate Israel just as much as /pol/, but for it being an apartheid state that the U.S. uses to project its military power in the region instead of there being some global Zionist conspiracy.

Not him, but most people who get accused of "reddit spacing" don't even do that. It's always like two or three sentences to form one little paragraph and then an extra closing sentence or another statement about some other thing.

It's just cleaner that way instead of having a of wall of text.
