I'm not familiar with Atlanta specifically, but you'll need to get some cash together. Find out what rents are like there and save up probably about 5x that (the more the better). When getting an apartment, they'll want a deposit, so that's 2 rent checks. Then another rent check to keep the lights on and food in the fridge. And the next 2 checks are your cushion between then and the time you get paid.

But even before you move, get to know the area, the employers and try to get a connection to some people that already live there. Having a friend in the city itself is a really good thing.

I'm not sure if I'd move out there without a job, but it would be good to take a trip or two on the weekend or take a week off to check it out, see if you'll even like it, network, and hand out resumes.

Not sure what other advice I'd give, that's the basics.
