in media the idea of love and romance is emphasised and made an ideal for any relationship, but in any healthy 'normal' relationship true, deep love isn't possible. couples that last are the ones 'good' for each other, fond but not in love, independent and not too deeply attached to each other, capable of working on their own. people praised their whole lives, happy with themselves, confident in their abilities, no missing pits to be filled

real love makes you think and fantasise about them for hours at a time, never run out of energy for them, be willing to sacrifice time, money and safety for them with no pay-off, and want to understand them as deeply as possible only to change yourself to fit them. you obsess over them. that isn't a healthy relationship, you need to purge those feelings to survive even as a suitor. it completely undermines your goals, natural feelings, and survival instincts, over as much as a conversation

love consumes you, becomes an integral part of your ability to function. displaying the glass window of love to the world allows anyone with the right tools to smash it. rejecting love is rejecting you as a whole, and vice versa
