Currently: $400 savings account
Most of the year: Less than $20
Feels good. I'm finally forcing myself to save and am gonna work on living like a monk henceforth and actually save some money. Probably because I'm going to law school, quitting my full time job, and realizing I can't afford to be endlessly financially irresponsible.

>$2000
>$750 rent due the first of each month
>no job
How fucked am I?
>>38421262
desu most of it has been gift/incidental/scholarship money, most I haven't worked for. No reason not to spend it really, but the comfort of having sizable savings is worth it. Are you wageslaving?
>>38421533
you have 2.5 months to find a job or a cheaper living situation
>>38421533
> 750 rent
The fuck do you live. I have to stay with my mother because rent in nyc is twice that much as minimal
Vault money is saved for car/driver's training etc. I'm putting $200 a week in there and only touching it in cases of emergency.

GoBank. Pros are that you can't overdraft, also I get my direct deposit from work a day earlier than everyone else. You can also deposit money on your card at Walmart for free. The big con is only one free atm in my whole city.
>over 30k in my bank account
>paid rent/car insurance/etc.
>made shit money for like 3 years and quit my job
>on parents health insurance since i'm 24

I have neetbux in addition to the money that I get from working. That's the only reason I can save so much. I know that won't last. I have bills to pay. First thing I did when I got a job was knock out all my debt. I am on the low income power plan and since it's summer I don't need to pay so much for gas to heat my house so I'm doing better. There's also lot rent for my trailer, internet, cell phone, water, trash pickup, mobile home insurance... I don't even have a car yet.
Lifting yourself out of abject fucking poverty isn't easy. It's like you're drowning and higher waves just keep coming. If nobody gives you any help you're completely fucked. If my sister wasn't driving me to work every day this just wouldn't be possible. If the neetbux wasn't there I couldn't even dream of getting a car let alone my license. I'm fucking 28 years old and every week I'm at the dmv with all these smiling teens getting their license. You know what they have that I didn't have? Supportive parents sitting next to them holding their hands every step of the way.
The pull yourself up by your bootstraps shit everyone always talks about is a lie. In the United States of America the straps are too goddamned short. The entire game is rigged against you if you're poor. You work all day like a slave just to make someone else rich unless you had some kind of head start. Thankfully for the first time in my life I have something like that for the first time in my life. It's pretty shit and work makes me hate my life but being impoverished forever is the other option so I continue on.
