Honestly, think about it. Is living life even matters? I am not even suicidal but this question bothers me. It doesn't matter if your life is good, or bad. The end will always be the same. 100 years from now it wouldn't mean shit if you fucked a roastie. 150 Years from now no one will even remember you. You will literally mean nothing to this world, to the point that it doesn't even if you lived or not.
nothing matters anon, just do what you want whenever you want wherever you want to whoever you want
It doesn't matter at all but while you're alive you can suffer

Assuming nothing matters, why live at all? Suffering is painful and happiness is meaningless.

No answers whatsoever?

welcome to nihilism, make yourself comfortable as this train does not stop
>>38414289
Does nihilism, given enough time, brings suicidal thoughts?
>>38414492
It's one of two end points
The other is Absurdism, where you just give life meaning, instead of looking at other/the environment for meaning.
Doesn't matter what you choose, neither is right or wrong.
>>38414289
Is that the conclusion most come to?
>>38413982
>happiness is meaningless
But it feels good man. Fuck meaning.
The way I see it is that life is all about acquiring as many cool memories as you can before you die. Those memories are what give your life meaning, and it doesn't matter if other people remember you or not.
>>38414845
Once you die your memories don't mean shit though. If they don't mean shit, are they still meaningful?
>>38414876
even more reason to savor the moment then, do what you can before you lose it
>>38414903
And why is losing it a bad thing?
>>38414938
Never said it was
In the end it's up to you to decide. As a Nihilist, i see no right or wrong answer in nearly everything (apart from scientific theories)
>>38414972
>There is no right or wrong answer in nearly everything
Then does this mean that most question are useless to ask?
>>38413982
Suffering is just as meaningless. Suffering feels bad, happiness feels good. They're both just feelings and you should treat them the same. Suffering is simply a part of life. Most people will experience both suffering and happiness in somewhat equal amounts, even if it's because you get desensitized to the one you have most of.
>>38415253
But does it worth it? To feel all this suffering for some happiness? And in the end you get the same result. If a formula always gives the same result no matter what the variables are, it's a shitty formula.
Nihilism is cool but apathy is even cooler.

Depends if we're valuing suffering negatively and what we want on the end balance. I think suffering is just as worthwhile as happiness, even if our bodies are conditioned to minimize it. A life of pure happiness isn't worth more than a life of suffering. They're both pretty shitty, actually. Balance in all things.

Just because life is meaningless doesn't mean that you can't find happiness. I think a good life is one where you're mostly distracted from the depressing thoughts about the meaninglessness of life. If you took two people who recently died and you wanted to know who had a better life you would probably measure it by looking at how many pleasure chemicals in total flowed through the brain during it's lifetime. I know that this is probably physically impossible but my point is that it doesn't matter how you get those chemicals flowing. Depending on your brain chemistry you could have a better life than Chad just by playing video games or building LEGO houses or even burning ants to death with a magnifying glass (it's completely up to you). You just need to find the things that distract you the most and you're good to go. Of course it has to be sustainable. If you start smoking crack and slamming speedballs into your veins multiple times a day you won't have a good time for long. I realized this about 4 months ago and I haven't been depressed since that. Before that I was having suicidal thoughts for almost 10 years. Personally what gets me going right now is video games and adrenaline rushes. I get my adrenaline rushes from training and competing in BJJ but I'm always looking to branch out. I've been thinking about trying out mountain biking.

>You will literally mean nothing to this world
Except if you actually manage to contribute to science, literature, or politics in a meaningful way.
Spend your life working or you have a 100% chance of being forgotten, and even worse, living a useless, needless life.

nothing in life matters at all but I am pretty sure it only bothers people who were raised with religion because when they were little kids their parents lied to them that everything happens for a reason, your life is part of gods plan who loves you and when you die you go to heaven and bad people go to hell and there has to come a time where you think wait maybe thats actually just made up rather than understanding life is just random bullshit and its up to you to make sense of it from as soon as you are like 4 and start to conceive of the worlds make-up, unfortunately this is literally like 99.999999% of people so its normal if you dont have a fulfilling life or even if you do to find the meaningless of it distressing
