When was the comfiest time in history?
>>38390248
never ever, humanity has always been shit
>>38390248
Good question. I have no answer but your picture is certainly comfy.
>>38390248
The comfiest time is in the now
>>38390647
you must be a CREEPAZOID then
>Be 4000 BC
>be 8 snow seasons old
>despite being oldest Neanderchad is leader
>live simple life
>wake up Neanderchad smashin some rockstie
>never have to leave cave cause too weak
>be in charge of fire
>whenever all the rocksties are away gathering Neanderchad will fuck me
If you don't think being a NEET in 4000BC is the most comfy time to live you are wrong
>>38390248
tribal time
as soon as people started needing to get "jobs" that's when everything went to shit
>>38390872
this
research shows hunter+gatherer society is easy AF, and on average you would do 6 hours of labor a day.
civilization doesn't fit our evolution, that's why so many of us have mental problems and kill ourselves
>>38390927
but then the soul sucking system tries to stop you from killing yourself
>>38390872
>tribal time
Are you fucking serious? You need to educate yourself about food security.
>>38390927
That's a pretty ridiculous workload. I work 3 days a week and pull $60k. It's not easy but leaves me with a lot of money since my spending is low. I'd rather work less, have more and better everything, and not die from a scraped toe.
>>38390248
Depends on who you were. If you're rich, any time is comfy time. What exactly do you mean by comfy? You can't just ask a vague question and expect answers bruh.
>>38391045
except the norm is 40 hours a week, with shit pay if you didn't get a job after college. The 6 hours of labor involve every menial task as well.
>die from a stubbed toe
at any point in history apart from when we aren't killing each other (war became regular after civilization), it's evident that high mortality rate stems from rate of infant survival. If you got through childhood you would probably live into your late 70s.
>>38390927
I wonder how much more interesting life was when they didn't know how it all worked. Now a basic science education reveals there's no magic in anything (for better or worse).
>>38391239
Overstimulation due to technology is probably any 1st worlder's #1 issue in society nowadays
>>38391156
are you implying there wasn't violence when we were nomadic?
The original 80s man
>>38391282
No, the rate highly increased with civilization. You could kill a lot more when populations start giving a big surplus of humans due to agriculture.
Sometime in the future

>No, the rate highly increased with civilization
Relative to the population? And what is 'violence' to you?
>>38390248
1950s
>Most of the world is still rebuilding after WW2
>USA still has factories and industry running
>don't need a degree from clown college to live a comfy life
>>38391610
On the Road is talking about this time in America for young people.
>>38391286
The 80s were a time of gaudy, obnoxious maximalism where people were at eachother's throats for the sake of not liking eachother
It's potentially the least comfy time in the past century. It just seems that way because it takes about 30 years for revivalism to go cyclical and association to comfy /threads/

In my mind, it will always be 1980s Japan.
Definitely before the internet. Maybe I would've turned out more normal.
>>38391156
They didn't have antibiotics then, you still die from stupid shit even controlling for infant mortality. 6 hours a day is still more than 40 hours a week. Hunter gatherer is objectively the shittiest time to live.
>>38392178
Books still existed, retard. You'd be the same loser, just with paper. At least on a computer you can hide shit in nice small organized directories.
>>38390248
I know the working hours were awful and I wouldn't want to live here as a lazy neet, but 80's Japan looked so comfy.

>>38392388
Books aren't the same as the internet. There are needs the internet provides that you could never find only through books.

Social interaction, support. You can talk to anyone from anywhere about anything, there's a community for literally everything. Every hobby you have, every thing you like, every idea you support, every opinion you have. You can always find someone that is just like you, you no longer have to go out of your way to find people like yourself. There is always support groups for every problem you'll ever have. 4chan itself is a safe haven for much of the world's outcasts, none of us would be able to express many of the things you'll find here if not for the internet.
Books can offer entertainment and knowledge but the internet gives you a base level of everything but food and shelter with none of the effort required. You're not forced to put yourself out there anymore.
>>38393145
Before the internet, you could write and send letters. If you were a preteen or a teenager, you could find pen friends in dedicated sections in magazines for young people. Of course, this was slower than with the internet.
>>38390248
2014
it was the golden age of dank memes, pic related
>>38393382
You still had to find people to send letters to and the process wasn't nearly as streamlined as it is on the internet. You would not find a penfriend like you find on 4chan. You had limited options and limited interactions.
With the internet you can have real time conversations with every single type of person in existence about any topic in existence. You can do almost anything online with online friends that you could in real life except touch them. You can have real time conversations, you can speak to them over VOIP, you can have face to face video conversations, you can watch movies or shows together, you can play games together. You can talk about your problems.
At no point in history has it been this easy to satisfy your needs as a human being with as a little effort as possible than today, not even close. Everything is streamlined. Every question you could have is a google search away. People just like you, with the same tastes, opinions and beliefs are a google search away. Infinite entertainment is a google search away.
A NEET living today could not live the same life they live today before the internet. No one spent 16 hours a day reading books. At some point they had to get out, you had to talk to people, you had to put some effort in to satisfy your needs as a human being. The kid with no friends couldn't just retreat to his buddies in his WoW guild.
