>>38314107
Use to smoke 2-3 packs a day, recently quit due to free vape/lifetime ejuice supply.
Now its just the nicotine i needa quit and ill be free from it all.
Smoking only 5 cigs a day for 6 years? Youll be fine my man.
Though you should really just consider quitting it all together as it doesnt sound like you need it.
>>38314195
nah i dont need it youre right but i just enjoy the taste for some reason and coffee with it. even though its been 6 years im actually not addicted or anything
thanks bud
>>38314289
I feel ya my man.
If its not a problem then its not a problem.
Enjoy your smokes.
>tfw need more booze, no drinking tonight :(
>>38314195
Have your taste buds been noticeably affected by smoking?
Aay first lost in these threads but I'm a budding alcoholic so why not? Been getting drunk everyday for months now on whiskey and these threads plus booze are so comfy to just read while drunk.
Is runm or bourbon better than whiskey? I haven't even tried them and they were more expensive at the store so I'm assuming so but is it worth the extra dosh.
>>38314795
Taste and smell both.
Food has less flavour.
People often say something stinks and i just cant smell it.
Even ejuice tastes/smells like nothing to me.
I think the damage is done and I can only hope to restore some of it eventually.
>tfw not even enogh money to get myself drunk anymore
>>38314870
Keep in mind that different countries have different labeling laws, so what I'm saying is mostly relevant to an American. Bourbon is an American type of whiskey. Based on what you're saying, that bourbon was more expensive than "whiskey" I'll have to assume that you're speaking of blended whiskey. Blended whiskies are a type of whiskey that uses part whiskey and part neutral spirit (think vodka) in order to keep the cost down. In reality, if you're American, bourbon isn't that much more expensive than a blended whiskey. Cheap straight bourbons include brands like Old Crow, which, in my region, is only about $4 more than something like Early Times or Canadian Mist, both of which are blended.
For whiskey, the biggest styles are bourbon, rye, Tennessee, Scotch, and Irish. Of course, there are other styles, such as Corn, but those aren't a style you'll find at the average grocer.
If you like the blended whiskey you're drinking, try a straight whiskey. Straight just refers to unblended. Meaning, a straight bourbon is a bourbon whiskey without coloring or neutral spirits added.

>Rockdale
(((Google))) says the brewery is in Novato, are you a Calibot by any chance?
>tfw leaving this shitty Mexisoviet state ASAP, probably sometime next week, don't know if for Oregon or Alaska
I'm just drinking because I'm bored as hell and hate my life in general, not any particularly strong hate tonight though. Shaved off a two-month hair and beard, though, so i feel new again (I work construction, it gets hot as hell in the summer.)
>>38314880
Did it happen gradually or suddenly?
>>38316641
Nope. Arizona. And I've never even heard of Rockdale before I just randomly saw it in the store. And it's not actually brewed in CA, it's brewed in La Crosse, WI. Some company owns the Rockdale branding and just buys vats of generic beer, slaps their Rockdale branding on the cans, and then sells the product exclusively to Walmart, it seems. For a dirt cheap beer, it doesn't taste that bad. I finished off the 24 pack earlier. No headache at all, which is usually a good sign. And for a light beer, it's fairly full bodied. However my problem with it is that the brew tastes like it's almost all malted cereal grains. The beer is pretty damn sweet and there's not much hop bitterness to balance the flavor out, and I much prefer when the malt is barely noticeable. Malt flavor is too sweet for me, personally.
I've had significantly worse. Hell, I have had "craft" beer that is worse.
>>38316641
>>38316721
Forgot autismo pic
Huh, must be another Rockdale brewery that helpful Hebrew showed me. I figured it might have been, any small local brewery probably isn't going to be that cheap (the State of Jefferson does have some top-notch breweries, though.)
I'm so inundated with heavy craft IPAs, being a Califag, that I love hoppiness. Malted grain does sound pretty gnar if it's a cheap beer, though, it can be really good in a craft beer but I don't trust much of anything in cheap beer. Any good breweries in AZ? I've only ever driven through the state, stopping at a few ghost towns to take pictures and feel like a deep, spirtual hipster piece of shit. What do you guys even do in your spare time out there, other than drink and smoke?
>>38316838
Nice nice I've got Kraken with me, 47%, letting it get cold rn.
>>38316864
Niiiiiice, anon! Later I'll start on my Kraken, I put Kraken in my darks and Jerry in my lights. Since I mix, I don't bother keeping my liquor cold, just my beer.
>>38316721
>>38316838
Holy shit. La Crosse, WI. That means it must be City Brewing, the brewers of the infamous Beer 30, the worst-ever reviewed beer on Beer Advocate. Nobody even knows what their actually deal is. Could be run by Midwest mafia or Russians for all we know. Beer Advocate currently says:
THIS BREWERY DOES NOT OWN ANY BRANDS. IF YOU ADD A BEER HERE YOU RUN THE RISK OF YOUR REVIEWS BEING DELETED.
We will in time move all of these beers to the correct brand owners, if the brand owner is not on the site and is not in business anymore then the beer will be deleted with all of its reviews.
>>38316838
I probably should have mentioned that apparently the company that owns the branding is actually from CA. It's a confusing situation but not that uncommon.
We get some pretty good local brews out here in AZ. Four Peaks and Santan are local favorites. I'm partial to Papago and Nimbus personally, though. As for stuff to do out here, there's plenty if you're an outdoors type of person, but that doesn't really suit me personally. Lots of nature trails, outdoor shooting ranges, that kind of stuff. Around me, I live next to a bar that sells 50 cent PBR on weeknights, a restaurant, a smoke and liquor store, a gun store, and a high school, if that kind of puts it in perspective. I imagine there's not many areas in CA that can match that description, but, here in AZ, it's pretty common.
On the note of craft beer, I only drink about a 6 pack of good beer a week. I'll have a Blue Moon draft after my shift at work, then a single local craft, then just start drinking cheap beer. I don't understand how people claim to only drink craft beer.

>Midwest mafia
I was talking last week with someone who used to live in Chicao, and accidentally had a run-in with the mafia (well, several, but one story he told me was funny.)
He was walking around a bar looking for the bathroom, and accidentally walked into a room where a business meeting was happening. Went back to the bar, a man walked up and said "I think it would be a good idea for you to leave." He said he would just pay for the drink and then he'd be gone. The man then said, "Your drink has been paid for. Leave right now, and never come back here."
His daughter also accidentally hired the Mafia to extract money from parents at the school she worked at, because she accidentally said "I wish they'd just pay the fees" or something to a friend of hers who had the le connections xd
>>38317001
Actually, it's Melanie Brewing. They also brew Sapporo and Guinness Blonde American Lager at that site. But you are right that Melanie does Beer 30 as well.
>>38317085
Ah, ok. Jeez, those three being brewed at the same place I would not have guessed.
>>38317085
>Guinness
God, what a meme of a beer. At least Coors Light is a tolerable meme, Guiness just tastes like pig shit. If you're going to buy a dark beer, buy a good dark beer.
Bad light beers are tolerable, they generally just taste like alcoholic water. Bad dark beers are a sin against the alcohol gods.
>>38317119
You got me curious though. I'm too lazy to dive too deep into it, but it seems like Melanie and City might actually be the same company. City might be a subsidiary of Melanie, or vice versa. Or maybe they changed their name.
>>38317143
Guinness Foreign Extra Stout, even according to the beer hipsters of the world on RateBeer and BeerAdvocate, is one of the better beers in the entire world.
HEY BRING ME ANOTHER BEER
>>38317151
Nothing mass-produced is going to be "one of the better beers of the world." A good beer is almost never even sold more than a couple hundred miles from the brewery.
I realize I buy meme rums, but it's a lot more difficult (when even possible) to buy local hard liquor than to buy local beers. Not a brewer, so I have no idea why, unless it's because "le craft beer xd" has become such a Reddit meme recently.
>>38314870
Rum is better. Were you in the drunk thread last night anon?
Out of curiosity is all
The cheap dirtbag beer of choice, right here.
Yeungling is also good.
>>38317190
>I realize I buy meme rums, but it's a lot more difficult (when even possible) to buy local hard liquor
Really? Not that long ago, I bought two local Bourbons, and I don't even live in Kentucky. But that was expensive. Two fifths ran me back about $120 before tax. On the topic of beer, Guinness Foreign Extra Stout is hovering around a 95/100 on both RateBeer and BeerAdvocate. It's bar none the best macro brew I've ever had, and better than a significant portion of micros I've had as well. Have you had the beer? What didn't you like about it? Personally, I loved that it it had the milky, satisfying body of a stout yet managed to be as hop heavy as world-class IPAs, which is probably why beer snobs consider it a world class beer.
>>38317252
If somebody doesn't like Guinness draught, they don't like beer. Packaged, I actually like Newcastle better, with the stupid nitrous thing or whatever.
Besides Guinness, Sam Adams is the best macro brewery.
Pretty sure I've gotten drunk every day this year. It's been a hell of a ride and nothing makes anime better then booze
>>38317252
>If somebody doesn't like Guinness draught, they don't like beer.
>>38317287
Guiness just tastes like a cheap beer to me. I've only ever had their generic one though, not some fancy brew of theirs. But I feel strongly that if a brewery's headline beer is crap, all their beers will be as well.
Also, I like supporting local-ish businesses. Breweries are a good one, although I know some (like Ballast Point) have been bought out by (((someone))).
>>38317233
Genesee cream ale is delicious. It's better than many beers that cost twice as much.
>>38317287
Never had a a Newcastle with a nitrogen widget. I do like Boddington with the widget, though. I'll have to keep an eye out for Newcastle then because I've never seen it in a can. And Sam Adams isn't a bad choice. Haven't had a beer from them I don't like. Then again, most beers I've tried are at least drinkable.
its my b-day and im slamming mikes hard. i over did it on the weed so idk whats goin right now
>>38317377
I like supporting local business too, which is why I buy a 6 pack of good stuff a week. However, I still need a couple 30 racks to get me through the week.
>>38317449
I'm a math autist, if you go by ABV (even assuming you're not adding any liquor to it), a lot of regional breweries are very competitively-priced with the shit-water domestics like Coors. A 6-pack of Coors can be half the price of a six-pack of Eye of the Hawk, and still be roughly the same dollar-per-alcohol value. Plus, the heavier EotH and its higher-quality ingredients will have you drunk faster, and feeling better both while drunk and the morning after.
t. recovering full-blown alcoholic
>>38317481
Higher quality ingredients? What does that even mean? The beers using the literal highest quality ingredients are the cheapest beers. Do you not know what brewer's syrup is?
>>38317574
no bully, I'm not a brewer. I just know drinking local beers doesn't make me feel like shit, and drinking Coors (or some comparable mass-produced domestic) does.
I have no idea what brewer's syrup is. Redpill me, friend. But if the cheapest beers use the best ingredients, why do they taste like shit? Isn't that kind of like saying the people using the highest quality beef are McDonalds?
>>38317606
Brewer's syrup is a syrup added in the brewing process (chemically pure, usually dextrose) in order to cut costs, which is why mass produced beer is often lighter tasting. By using brewer's syrup, which, again, is a pure substance by definition (making it the highest quality possible) you're able to use less of the other ingredients. It's actually cheaper to use the high quality stuff than it is to just use grains and hops and yeast the entire way through.
Also, I really don't get what you mean by taste like shit. In my experience, cheap beer tends to have little to no taste. Tasting like shit implies it has a distinctive taste to begin with.
>vow to stop drinking
>have a bad day (most days)

>>vow to stop drinking
fag.
>>38317746
yup
whats up
7AM here. Just bought a six pack. I woke up like 6PM yesterday so for my internal clock this feels like a normal time to drink, but it's still kinda fucked.
I've been drinking/craving more recently and there's alcoholism on both sides of my family. If my life was going anywhere I might care.
