Now that the dust has settled, I feel like I can say 100% that I'd enjoy a dark comedy based on Elliot Rodger's life. His personality was so ridiculous, there's no way you can't see the comedy in his situation. The soundtrack would be all 80s music and "Can't Hurry Love" by Feel Collins would be playing during the shooting https://youtu.be/upnrXooMh4s

If you have a decent camera try and make some clips for the movie, maybe you'll enjoy it

inb4 butthurt elliot fangirl(boy)s
>>38174608
>that scene where he throws coffee on that couple
>that scene where he says the girl dating an asian guy has a face like a horse
>that scene where he almost gets found out when the cops come knocking but he is able to muster a normal act for a few minutes and trick them
>>38177379
>that scene where he sits in his bedroom listening to his sister getting banged
His actor would have to narrate the movie as if it were his manifesto
>>38177659
>those plunging sounds
this movie should have won the oscar of best sound effects
id rather have a randy stair movie desu
>>38178242
would be pretty boring desu. But if the movie is boring enough people start to feel uncomfortable it can actually represnt well the mental issues of loneliness.
There was gonna be a movie based on elliot back in 2015 but it got scraped.
>>38178242
I don't even know his full story. He was just some faggot with a Danny Phantom waifu wasn't he? And he made little cartoons and YouTube videos and then made a half assed attempt at a mass shooting?
>>38178344
I know about two movies more or less loosely based on Elliot. One was actually released in 2015 and the other one was completed a year or two ago but never released.
>>38178974
They won't be funny though.
>>38177379
>that scene where he does drive-bys on randoms with his orange juice gun
>that scene where he gets dyed blonde hair as a little boy and then it's JUST tier and he hates it
>that scene where he fucks up getting through the sorority door
I think it's have to be a comedy, it'd have emotional moments Elliot deserves that I don't want the film to mock his memory, but he was just such a character you'd be removing so much of what makes him who he was if you didn't have all the funny shit he did
>>38179039
>they won't be funny though
>won't
what did you mean by this
>>38179198
Sorry I just read about a horror film apparently coming out this year loosely based on the Rodge and that was my thought.
>that scene where he realizes what the average penis size is
>>38174608
A coming of age psychological drama about him would be the best thing. Something like Forrest Gump or Boyhood but a bit darker, and with bits of comedy every now and then. His whole life should be put in a movie, mostly based on his manifesto, where we could see his evolution and how did he become what he was step by step through the movie. It would be a great story, but very hard to realize, since it could offend many people.
>>38179452
>this is very unsettling
topkek I dunno why but that made me laugh.
>>38179703
Coming-of-age films usually have a protagonist which prevails in the end, which we all know isn't true for ER.
I think a film about him would do best a dark comedy, along the lines of something like Four Lions, except instead of islamic terrorists, it's about a spree shooter.
It'd be mostly drama, but which little instances of dark comedy scattered throughout
>>38179749
>Coming-of-age films usually have a protagonist which prevails in the end, which we all know isn't true for ER. It would be a very good psychological analysis.
Yes but this way we would be able to see what led Elliot to commit suicide and kill others
>>38179749
To elaborate on this, I can already imagine a pretty good scene.
His "shooting spree" is about to begin, the music is getting tense, and the final act of the film is underway, then he's stopped momentarily by a door and maybe some stacies laugh at him
That'd be a hilariously dark moment.
What actor could play Elliot Rodger convincingly? It doesn't even have to look like him. It just has to have his personality down.
>>38179909
Miguel Angel Some realls looks like Elliot (pic related) but he's Spanish so he couldn't be convicing because his English propably isn't good enough.
Ezra Miller also. He has already played a similar character
>>38180029
>ezra miller
This. And you're right, the movie where he played a school shooter (or archer) is a great example. He'd make a great Elliot.
I think the movie would be best if it was done in non-linear order too. Not just to seem pretentious but it'll hook the audience more that way
>>38180029
The real question is, are they autistic enough to pull the character off?
>>38180126
It's not about being autistic enough to pull him off. It's about ACTING autistic enough to pull him off. A real autist probably isn't the best actor unless he's really high-functioning
and a lot of actors are great at pulling off unhinged characters. I know Ezra could definitely pull it off
Granted, Ezra is more attractive than elliot, but real-life people are always a little less prettier than their movie counterparts.
/r9k/ should write a quality script, send it for free somehow to hollywood using 4chan powers. Some director takes it, makes a movie. We enjoy.
>>38179042
>dyed blonde hair
Fuck his mom probably did that shit him. She probably wanted him to be a little white boy so bad.
>>38180269
>send it for free to make a rich kike richer
Nice idea, why don't you do it yourself.
Have you ever seen Four Lions? It's a comedy about four jihadists who can't really bomb their target without fucking something up.
Even being dark, it's pretty fun.
>>38180421
No Jew moviemakers would be willing to touch a script like that. It would go to some indie director.
>>38180437
Yes! I mentioned it earlier in the thread. Four Lions is a great movie. Glad someone else has seen it.
I think an ER movie should have a similar tone to Four Lions. Funny, but not over the top funny and still really dark
>>38174608
I was listening to some of Elliott's tapes on a true crime broadcast the other day.
I had read his manifesto, but nothing prepared me for how whiny and autistic he sounded. No wonder he couldn't get laid.
>>38179909
What actor would have the balls?
>>38174608
We could get his dad to direct it
>>38180450
Hollywood is getting pretty edgy with the stuff they put out.
Only reason Tarantino was able to make Django Unchained is because he has black friends like Sam Jackson so nobody's gonna get mad at Tarantino for making a movie making a caricature of slavery
A movie about some loser that shoots up a school really isn't that edgy by hollywood standards anymore
>>38180531
>What actor would have the balls?
Most of them? Lots of actors play edgy roles, terrorists, rapists, etc.
Ezra miller played a school shooter. Hollywood is far edgier than you guys think m8. Go outside sometime.
>>38180535
Thats actually not a shit idea desu desu
Somebody get on the kickstarter, this is going to be good for some laughs at least.
>>38180594
It's not that Hollywood wouldn't make an edgy movie, it's the fact that Elliot Rodger was a real guy who killed real people. You make an Elliot Rodger movie, now his parents are coming after you, the families of all the people he killed are coming after you, white knights are coming after you.
>>38180686
The only complaint I could see possibly coming are complaints from the Rodger family. And even then, true story movies still get produced, even if family members oppose it.
A good example is Pain and Gain. True story but the families of the protags irl didnt like it and complained. Same with the show Narcos. Pablo Escobar's son bitch about the portrayal of his dad on the show.
doesn't mean the movie won't get made. Though...there might be a possible outcry from the victims of the family is the movie is done as a dark comedy.
Is the movie is done as a straight-drama, it won't attract any controversy, but as a dark comedy, it might still be too soon.
>>38180686
What about I Am Not Afraid. Granted it was 17 years after the shooting and it didnt really focus on E&D very much, but surely its still a similar situation?
>>38179703
https://youtu.be/FFqn8gTmEQw
Anon, his life was not to be taken seriously. Coming-of-age movies should be reserved for less cartoonish people.
>>38180753
>Is the movie is done as a straight-drama, it won't attract any controversy
It'd be really difficult to pull off a completely serious movie about ER since he was so cringe-worthy. It'd cross into unintentional humor.
A dark comedy is the only way to make a good ER movie.
>>38180822
A "comedy" about a shooting that took place in 2014 is still way too soon. No way it'd get greenlit.
>>38180906
But like he said, you can't make a serious drama about that fucking guy. Maybe it'd take a few more years for it to finally be okay to laugh about but it has to be a comedy.
