Karate was such a mistake for me. Got some ribs broken when I was 6 or 7 at a Tae Kwon Do competition by some kid that was way older than me. I was a tall kid so they thought it was the fairest pairing. Whenever I got into a real fight before I learned Aikido I would get dropped very quickly and beaten down. What kind of headaches are we talking here? I get REALLY bad migraines frequently (for migraines). I made sure I was always hydrated, and tried to sleep very regularly. Turns out I have bipolar II, so whenever my "phase" shifts the seratonin dips or spikes cause them. Because migraines are actually a form of epilepsy, lamotrigine (an anti-convulsant) stops my migraines and stabilizes my mood. Headaches can be caused by all sorts of things. Try to cover all of your bases. The concussion might not have anything to do with it. It's entirely possible that you just don't drink enough water and you're a little bitch when it comes to pain.

In my experience, amphetamine is one of if not THE best treatment we currently have for ADD. Should kids be medicated? That's up for debate. We only have around 25 years of experience with amphetamine and children in particular. Regardless, having a chemical aid to patch up what my brain can't normally do has been a godsend.

Fair enough man. I switched to methylphenidate for a week or so so I could get off amphetamine for a month without turning into a narcoleptic. It's way worse. Amphetamines definitely do have major drawbacks if you're doing it wrong. I was doing it wrong for a bit. Not afraid to admit it. I'd like to see new substituted amphetamines or phenethylamines be developed with more acute mental stimulation and fewer physical side effects and addiction potential. Everyone has their own preferences though.
