Get your shit together hoe
150k+ with stock and bonus included. After investing in stock and 401k, I feel like I'm living paycheck to paycheck. How is it even possible that people live in SoCal on less than 100k?
>>38026451
Not at all, I need money badly and I don't see any reason why a single person needs $100,000 a year when his fellow robots can barely afford shelter
>>38024229
>Anyone else here make over $100k/yr?
Well, I guess technically I do. I'm retired, but in an average year, I make about $120K in stock capital appreciation, stock dividends, and other "unearned" income.
Obviously the amount varies greatly from year to year, but $120K/yr is the long-term average. To insulate myself from market crashes, I keep about $450K in CDs. If the market goes down for a while (say, 8 years) then I have the CD money to live on while the market is underwater.
Of that $120K/yr, I spend about $40K, and I keep the remaining $80K invested in stock as a buffer against inflation. (I.e. -- that $80K/yr in gains causes my net worth to grow at about 3%/yr so that I can keep up with the 3%/yr rate of inflation.)

1.
He has 49.9k in net worth on his bank account. That's ignoring any other type of investments he might have with other firms or any possessions he might own. So it's not really net worth. It's just what's on him right now. It's a good chunk of disposable income.
2.
You're pretending like rich people save every penny they get. It's not wise to do that. Not only will inflation fuck you up but money you don't spend or invest is money you don't see any return on.
He's not 'super duper rich'. But it's entirely plausible he earns what he says he does.

Your big income and you've still managed to run up a credit card bill that exceeds your liquid assets. The sad truth is just that wealth has to be built and inherited over generations. Take some redneck out of fly over country and give him an average job in the city and he fucks it up like you have.

I make around $135k salary at my main job as a welder/weld inspector but I also have some property investments and I'm a minority owner in a fairly successful small/mid sized business that nets me more than my actual salary.
I live in LA though so everything is quite pricey and I grew up dirt poor, actually spent some of my late teens homeless, so I'm very reluctant to spend and enjoy my money. I live off of less than $40k so everything else gets invested.
>>38030045
This is a dumb normie problem.
He could live in a cheap mobile home and drive a cheap car, and save TONS of money, but he probably drives a stupid bmw or a big truck, and lives high end apt with more rooms than he needs.
This sort of shit pisses me off because I just want to live in a cheap mobile home or something with a working AC that's not surrounded by noisy, trashy people.
I live at home and pay no rent, but I've save over half my income (20k/year) even though I drive a constantly breaking down old gas guzzler and eat out and drink too much (my only vices).
>>38030519
I bet he took out a loan to get that truck too.
>>38030519
Same, I've been thinking about getting a cheap RV because it seems like the only cheap apartments are in terrible neighborhoods. Some guy on youtube got a used RV for $900. I hope I can find an RV that cheap.
>>38030398
>I also have some property investments and I'm a minority owner in a fairly successful small/mid sized business that nets me more than my actual salary
Let me in on this fellow robot
>>38030753
I got lucky in both cases. I had some cash lying around from selling a small business I was part owner of in 2008. This was right after the RE crash so I was able to pick up some smaller industrial properties around south LA for cheap. I keep one as my personal space, the others I lease out.
Around the same time I had a friend who's dad ran a successful manufacturing business. This business itself was successful, but he had another business that was going bankrupt. He needed someone to help maintain all the machinery and rather than have him pay me a salary(I already had another full time job, and he was having problems with cash flow due to the other business failing) I had him give me equity instead that vested over a 4 year period. Long story short the business does around $18mil/year in revenue with about $4-4.3mil in profit. The bulk of that obviously goes to the majority owners but I get a good chunk every year as well.
I still work 50-60 hours at my normal job though and still drive a 10yo Honda. Probably going to try and buy an actual nice car this year.

>organizing your shit on intuit
>>38030066
They guy's right dude, having your liquid assets at least equalling your liabilities is finances 101.
>>38031036
So can i join or what?
>>38031306
Unfortunately no. I have no say in the running of the business, I'm a minority shareholder, and the properties run themselves.
