here if you don't work you die
>>
>>37992886
i didn't mean it in a condescending way. are they fine with it or have they threatened to kick you out like most murican parents probably would?
>>37992875
how do i collect disability? did you fake it or do you have real issues?
>>
>>37992856
I live with my family. My mom and brother and his gf that also lives with us pay for everything. My other brother is neet too but he gets a job every now and then and he actually has a trade so if he ever gets off his ass he can make big buckaroos. I'm a waste of space dropped out and got GED when I was 17 and I know it but my family loves me for now atleast and are willing to take care of me. My brother is moving out with his gf soon tho and my mom is getting sick of me quick. Will probably have to get a job soon or apply for neetbux again. I hate being a leech I feel too guilty to enjoy ANYTHING and feel even worse that I'm still not doing anything about it. I'm in a shit position and I know it's all my fault. Sucks.
>>
>>37992701
does childhood count? i'm 20 and dropped out at age 16 and have never worked a job before
>>
>>37992875
What did you have to do? I had a lawyer and everything and still got denied. Just go to the doctor a lot or what? Maybe the judge just hated me.
>>
>>37992857
you won't see it coming.
>>
>>37992918
they don't really care that much
they know i have issues even though they don't understand me
im not drop out neet only because im lazy
i tried different things to fix my life, they saw me trying so i suppose that's why they are not mad
just disappointed

i don't cause troubles at home and help around when i can
>>
>>37992963
No you fucking moron, understand what NEET means first
>>

I have real psychiatric problems but it doesn't really hurt to play them up if you are trying to get disability. To get it you have to have a history of mental illness (going back at least a couple of years) and proof that you have been diagnosed by a psychiatrist. Sometimes you don't even need all of that. It also helps if you have proof that you can't work. Dropping out of school or not being able to maintain a job are good things to point out. Having a family member confirm a history of mental problems will really help things along as well.

tl;dr Basically you could bullshit your way through it, but it helps if you have something real to build on. Sorry that was so long and probably boring.

>>
>>37992975
Hey, samefag as >>37992984

I didn't have a lawyer; my psychiatrist arranged everything for me. It took a few years for it to go through but after it did I received backpay. I almost needed a lawyer but I lucked out.
>>
>>37993051
Are you white by any chance? I am a minority living in an area where people are prejudice against my race and was wondering if that had anything to do with it. The judge was pretty stern and made it seem like I was bullshitting and everything. I actually do have mental health issues but I never stick with going to the doctor. I don't have any insurance, so I have to go to a counselor at a place that they will see me for free and it seems like they weren't talking my doctors seriously either. It's so weird that I know people who get it so easily, but it's so hard for me for some reason. I know someone who was fine until a few years ago and he was suddenly diagnosed with bipolar and gets it right away. His mom is white though. Thing is, I have a scattered history of being in a psych ward a few times for feeling like I was going crazy and self harming/trying to kill myself. I have a long history of depression and anxiety but long intervals of just not seeing a doctor. They only seem to look at past few years too, I haven't had a job in 4 years and am neet for that long. I wish I knew how to get neetbux easy I feel guilty leeching off my mom so long.
>>
>>37993126
Yes, I am white. I think you are probably right about not getting your disability as easily because you are a minority. I can't really think of another explanation considering your history.

Have you ever had a psychiatrist make a write up for you? I think their word tends to hold more weight in social security disability cases than normal doctors. If you can, try to find someone who takes low income patients. A lot of them will work on a sliding scale with you depending on what you can afford.

This is kind of shady, but it might help if you get yourself diagnosed as bipolar. I don't know why but that seems to be the golden ticket for everyone I know who has disability.

Sorry you are having such a hard time. I hope things work out eventually.
>>
>>37992857

Leech of your parents or try to claim a disability
>>
>>37993280
Ah okay, I think you are right. Now that I think about it, I know more than just that person with bipolar who seems to have gotten it easily, also not a minority. When I was a teenager one psychiatrist diagnosed me with bipolar but I only saw her briefly. I have a problem jumping from doctor to doctor some I see much longer than others but I rarely leave the house until it gets too bad nowadays and I feel like killing myself or going crazy which is when and why I went to the ER and they sent me to the psych ward. They sent me to an "actual" psychiatrist after that and paid for some of my sessions but I felt bad after she kept seeing me for free so I stopped going. She probably would have written something for me now that I think about it she was really nice. She also informed me that they have students or something that only charge 10 USD a session that I can see too, but I don't know how well that would hold up in court since they are only students. I will look into the bipolar and and low income thing thanks anon.

Only 2 and a half years here, but I feel like it's impossible to get out of this situation now. I'm poor, dumb, badly socialised, have a huge work gap and skills. I make efforts to find a job and break out of this cycle every so often, but it's just impossible. I have no connections and not even the bottom of the barrel places want to hire someone like me.

Coming up to my fifth year, I dropped out of college to look after my mother who became ill.
Anyone else feel like time goes by so quickly as a neet? Sometimes I wake up and I'm not even sure what day it is.
