Yes it's a fun meme to say he's out of ideas but when it comes down to it he's mildly genuine and extremely funny. His videos are also actually pretty diverse if you think about it, a steady mix of roasts, gaming and memes.
He doesn't get on camera and pretend to cry like Markiplier or try to be suitable for toddlers to watch like jackspedicey. He's not funny and pessimistic like idubbbz but PewDiePie is overall a very good and patrician level entertainer and definitely deserves his top spot (by a 100% margin) on YouTube
