Would you rather work in retail, fast food, or an office job?
>>37930635
Office job is for robots.
>>37930635
I'd literally rather blow my brains out.
>>37930635
Office obviously, but I am retail cuck.
>>37931759
>wanting to work in a soul crushing cubicle farm
>>37930900
Dubs of truthh
>>37931803
Better than having to socialize ALL day
I've worked all 3. Office is the best
What do you even do at an entry level office job?
>>37930635
Fast food if I can do grill, but not if I'm cash register. Otherwise office because I can't do socialization with strangers all day.
>>37930635
Office job all the way. Retail is for losers and idiots
>>37932568
You do realize thatif you are in fast food, you arwnt going to be atuck with just one job right?
Your ass will be working the register, grilling burgers and mopping floors in front of normies.
>>37932675
In that case office.
Never had a job before.
Office job. I feel like working in fast food or retail would kill me inside more than being a cubicle jockey.
Don't work at all, the answer to go with.
Short hours in fast food for keks. Retail for decent pay and reasonable work. Office for good pay but soul crushing pressure and alcoholism
I pick KFC
>>37930635
You forgot about factory and warehouse. Factory is the true robot occupation. So true, they invented mechanical robots to replace us.
>>37932735
Do KFC stores ever get busy?
They don't seem very popular anymore.
>>37930635
I have done all 3, and I think:
Fast Food < Retail < Office
>FF
I worked at a BK when I was 17. I quit in a month. No one told me how to do anything and I frequently got yelled at for not being a multi-year veteran skill-wise after a week. My assistant supervisor actually asked my dad if I was retarded.
>Retail
Spent roughly two years doing this. Not that bad honestly. Front end might suck from having a dozen+ people constantly watching you, but shifts go quickly that way. Backroom/stocking is the good shit though. Little supervision and interaction, and most of the time the assignments I got were doable enough I wouldn't have to kill myself getting them done.
Pay is a bitch though, especially since the chain I worked at had Union Shop (mandatory enrollment) rules.
>Office
I kind of did this during my uni days. To me, the biggest advantage is you feel like a professional, like you can talk about it and not be ashamed. Pay is better and the experience could help land better business gigs.
>>37932762
They are packed on Sundays and are always full of old people.
KFC is the worst fuckin chicken place
>>37930635
I have worked all of them. FUCK RETAIL AND FUCK FAST FOOD WITH 100% OF EVERY FIBER OF MY BEING. Office jobs are God mode. I get paid to watch twitch on a 24 inch monitor and to watch anime. Love my job.
>>37930635
as a person who worked all, office jobs is the best
>>37932841
This is me again. I just had to come back and say it again. FUCK RETAIL AND FASTFOOD.In a office job I feel like I actually have a job and not working with fucking deadbeats
Office job. Anything customer service is lowest tier. Office jobs usually have higher status and some dignity. Some of them are quite all right.
>>37932762
Fucked friday-sunday but calm every other day. Night time is the best/worst because you can encounter the insane
Worst
>nig with gun
>didnt rob me but just held while driving for some reason
>youth trying to be worldstar famous and hopping counter
>accidentally hit qt cashier and begged for life before running
>dumbass new kid high as shit on first night shift
>slips and goes arm first into fryer
>screams like a pussy
>air smells like burnt chicken and people
>amblance comes and gets him
>couldnt sue for several reasons
Best
>groids fighting in car
>people of all color dancing when they get their food inside
>man walked in with an empty jug
>slaps down a 5 and filled up with root beer
Do people just not realize that more options than these exist?
>>37933070
Office jobs are impossible to get if you've never had a job before.
Office job, definitely
>no interaction with the public
>almost certainly higher wage
>not on your feet all day
Unless you have some deep desire to flip burgers then a white collar job is objectively better in every way
How do you get an office job? I've applied for data entry positions but I get no response.
>>37933494
Yeah, but not too many places are willing to hire someone who is socially inept, have little work experience, and can't think clearly under stressful conditions. The good jobs require an education , being fit, and having basic life skills (being able to work fast, communicate clearly, driving, living on own, etc).
-Fast food
-Retail
-Office
-Warehouse
-Factory
-Food Delivery
>want to get job but don't know how to tie a tie
>feel like a fool going to an interview with a dress shirt and no tie
>>37933691
Can't your mom do it for you?
>>37932651
>Uses collegehumor to back up claim.
>>37933939
Go apply at your local walmart then if you dont believe, champ.
You wont last a week
>>37933593
Have a degree or be white.
>>37930635
Office Job, mind your own business, maybe make a friend or two, you basically just stick to your work and then leave - supreme comfort//comfy as fuck
>>37934361
I have a degree and am white.
>no college degree
>no work experience
>no driver's license
>no internship
>no community service
After working all 3, easiest answer is office
>See same 6 people every day
>No other people
>Work by yourself until necessary
>Free food from time to time
>>37934414
he meant be black or have a high skill level
>>37934528
Yeah, It must be. Being a bong and trying to get and office job is impossible that and most of the ones require you to speak on the phone.
>>37930635
I work a factory job and it's much better than that normie shit you listed
>>37934460
Same here, I'm 28yo NEET who's done literally nothing since high school (ten years ago), never worked a day in my life, barely finished hs in fact, not even going to bother looking for a job or volunteering positions now
call me if there's a war or something. Until then imma just continue playing video games and shitposting
>>37930635
>retail
>have to deal with a lot of people
>fast food
>have to deal with a lot of people, but it's more detached and formulaic, also shittier
>office
>soulcrushing cubicle work, but minimal socialization
I'd recommend agriculture or some manual labor, all three of these are godawful
>>37934583
If nothing is stopping you from staying at home (having to take care of elderly/sick family) then it wouldn't hurt to do some volunteer work and learn some life skills. Get used to the work environment so that you don't have panic attacks when you actually do get a job.
>>37930635
Office job, I've worked retail and fast food. in fast food you're just a bitch and your employers don't give a shit about you and it's hot and nasty, in retail you're the customers bitch and you're on your feet all day running back and forth. at least in an office, you're working at a computer in a cushy building and get to dress nice
>>37932526
Sit contemplating your life and try to look busy.
Would prefer retail. You get to actually stand up and move around. Fast food can get crazy busy, crazy stressful, and the people you'll interact with are terrible. Office comes second place. I did a week of office work and wanted to die from having NOTHING TO DO. I honestly why they hire office people, they just sit doing nothing all day. It's especially bad if you're not allowed any distractions. If you can go on 4chan and stuff in the meantime then office work wins.
>>37935444
This is the worst. I don't like jobs where you have to work really hard, but they still beat jobs where you do nothing.
>>37935444
Fast food for me was fucking easy
There are times where it's seriously busy but those are few and far between. I just make some pizzas, box that shit, then go back to shitposting.
They should give cashiers chairs.
>>37930635
i would rather have enough guts to kill myself
>>37934341
>when i applied for a overnight job at local grocery store chain the store manager was adamant about hiring me saying alot of the younger guys quit after two weeks cause they cant handle the work
>lasted 3 months and then walked off on them during their busiest restock week when the asshole supervisor decided to fucking change my schedule "i request a specific day off a month in advance" because he was feeling "sick" and this is after the fact that im working way past 29 hours per week but they are getting away with it cause "its just overtime its he is only scheduled for 29 hours"
>>37930635
Worked at Dunkin' Donuts for my first job, Kmart and a local grocery store for my second and third jobs, and now finally an office / coding job for my fourth job (first out of university).
Office job by far is the best. Fast Food is soul-draining work, and so is retail (but I was night stocking and garden section with few people), but it's less hectic.
>>37935984
no shit your office job is the best, you have uni education behind you
>>37935752
>sitting down ON THE JOB?!
Unacceptable.
how does one get an office job while in uni?
>>37936032
I have uni experience and I still can't get an office job.
Does Administrator count as an office job?
>>37936097
You get one after, if you're lucky, or you know a guy.
>>37931803
>not being work at home master race
It's the best alternative if NEET isn't an option
>>37936087
only in burgerland is this unacceptable. Standing up as a cashier in no way benefits the company in sales. Fucking americulture is retarded. No wonder the turnover rate for these jobs are so fucking high.Getting paid $8 per hour to stand all day and get treated like shit. Only a HS schooler would think this kind of job is fine. 100% trash.I was a former cashier at walmart for 1 year. Now I work at Uni while a student.Fuck Retail.
>>37935752
There is a major retail chain which does exactly that. I work at it.However, you're not just cashiering all day. The expectation is that the second your line is done, you're on to lifting shit or some other useful project.
Do office jobs exist in the UK? All I find are receptionist and administration positions.
>>37936504
No. You have too many ungrateful youth such as >>37936418 with poor work ethic and no backbone (both metaphorically and now to my suspicion physically) and as such all officer level jobs have been outsourced or replaced with literally robots.
>>37936706
Office* fuck you autocorrect we ain't in the military. Yet.
>>37936706
So I'm stuck trying to get a retail job which I will never get due to pessimistic mindset and terrible social skills?
Fucking thanks.
>>37936706
sorry anon but I don't like being a fucking wagie.I prefer to do the least amount of work and making a killing at work. That is why I am even in uni. I want to do nothing and get paid. its my turn to jew the jews.Get on my level.
>>37936764
That OR bankrupt and indebt yourself to get into a uni and get a not-shit(read "useful STEM") degree that you hate to pave the way to a chance at a career you'll hate.
>>37930635
Office
I work in a kitchen right now and I want to die
>>37936797
You realize you're just putting yourself in debt to work at jobs with a higher skill level but the same level and intensity of work, right?
You weren't born into a rich family and probably have no appreciable connections to fallback on and utilize so your actual chances at a career that would lead to "less work more money" are slim at best.
Are you actually going to a GOOD uni?
Did you pick a GOOD degree not one that you thought you'd enjoy or was easier to complete?
Are you working on your transcript as we speak, and prior, by logging things like clubs, externships, appreciable part-time work, and/or volunteer work?
Are you currently writing anything that will be put into a proper paper by the time you graduate?
If you said "no" to any of these those "slim at best" chances turned to "nill to none".
The market at that level is also flooded with what they'd call half-assers and they're at the top so they can cherry pick the good ones and leave the likes of you to drown or swim to the nearest flotsam for the rest of your life.
>>37933636
Try a construction-type job. If you can show up on time and not be a retarded pothead, you're already way ahead of the game
>>37936814
Fast food or small restaurant? I lasted one day as dish washer, restaurants are probably one of the worsts sectors to work in.
>>37936950
>willing accruing permanent injuries and conditions for money
>being this much of a literal whore
>>37936893
Im working on a computer engineering degree at an ABET accredited university.Im in my second year and yes, I have more work experience than most of my peers. I held a job in hs and have a good number of out of school accomplishments. Currently right now I work in my uni's IT department and I'm a web administrator at my local church.Im in a far better position than most of nignogs here.Idk if this means anything but my bro is an electrical engineer, so at least I have some connection lmfao.
>>37937049
all in all im just a robot that doesnt want to be a wage Kek
>>37937049
Thata fairly good.
Ignore what your transcript was before uni that was just to get you into a good uni. By the time you land a job that wants your transcript they'll be dated and useless. Only include the work you do now and during uni years. This shows you can do work while you do work. This is a vaunted skill and shows you have organizational skills at a level most don't.
That being said be careful with CE take whatever course will have some sort of work to show by the time its done. This looks best.
>>37937039
>permanent injuries
It depends on what you do. If you do flooring, concrete, or something like that, then yeah you're liable to fuck yourself up.
Other trades like HVAC, electrical, plumbing aren't so physically gruesome
Society is the problem. If you're not a social butterfly who is outgoing, smiles all the time, has social skills and is a literal doormat you won't get the job.
I went for a call centre job only to have a panic attack and get fired the first day I was there. Society doesn't care about you, only cares about what you offer and if you have a mental illness then you're fucked as far as jobs are concerned unless you went for the STEM degree meme.
The better choice out of the three (for me) would be retail as it's actually bearable as a everyday task.
>already work office job
It has its annoyances but I would one thousand times over pick office over retail any day. Yeah there are shitty coworkers but shitty customers are far worse.
Office job by far
Having done all three, I'd take the office job.
But really, of all the wagekek jobs I've had, warehouse was the best.
I'm a 19 year old in retail and it's a fucking ball ache. Waking up at 4am, getting there for 5, dragging a pallet around the shop stacked up a foot higher than me with items (I'm 6 foot).
Did I mention that you have 20 minutes to clear each pallet? Less if it's a pallet of chiller items.
3 hours of that and then 3-7 hours of cashier.
>>37930635
Office before fast food before retail. And i'll include the front cash position of fast food as part of retail. I have done all three of these types and several others. Retail is the worst. I would rather work hazmat and scuba dive in literal shit than work retail again.
>>37937170
No. Just shit like working your body all day everyday.
Do tiling? You're permanently fucking your lower lumbar for life.
Being the get man? You're fucking your rotator cuff and kneecaps for life.
Etc.
Its literally RSI.
>>37932526
That'd be either data entry or secretarial, typically.
>>37937974
GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT.FIND A OFFICE JOB NOW.PLEASE ANON.
>>37932651
All of those comics are accurate.
>>37935656
I guess it depends where you work. Somewhere like McDonald's? Hell. Small local pizza place? Not so bad
Retail sounds fun
can get fullfilled with superficial social interactions with customers wich I don't mind and are necessary
Office shit just sounds soul crushing and I'd hate to be stuck with the same shitty normies everyday, seeing new ones I'll forget 30 minutes later fits me more
Wouldn't stand fast food because of the pressure at rush hours and fuck cleaning toilets
is it even possible to get an office job if i haven't been to uni
>>37939196
Imagine being in the UK. I can't find any office jobs.
I work for Starbucks.
I miss my old warehouse job.
Office work because fuck customers and the newspaper comics make it look zeiny
>>37930635
Office job, duh. Dumb snake.
office job, already worked in retail
>>37933691
Look up a video for oreintal knot. It's the easiest
