My employer hired too many people and everybody is now working only 20 hours instead of 30-40.
It's killing me financially, putting me at risk in paying my credit card late, getting me my very first derogatory mark ever since getting the card a couple years ago.
My monthly income went from $1,600 to $1,080.

Shit sucks man but don't be afraid to take a risk and jump on something new. Ride it out as long as you can while finding some other form of employment.
Find a new job, or another job, at least until you get out of debt.
>>37907004
What in the blue fuck are you doing having a credit card when you earn so little?
>>37907033
I'm waiting to hear back from a third-party about an employer who may or may not hire me for a job I used to do at another company, making twice the amount I was making.
The problem is it may take weeks for it to happen, but I'll hold out if it means I'll make about $50,000/year.
>>37907069
I was making twice the amount I'm making now.
>>37907004
>hired too many
No, see. He hired the right amount of people.
Now he has the same equivalent workforce BUT he doesn't lose the money he would have wasted on it by providing benefits.
>>37907004
Lol I use to do that too before I retired, I would hire more people to force shit employees to quit its a way to save money and give good workers more hours M8
>>37907094
wow, another human can think about pure business and turn a blind eye to humanity! just what we need more of.
>>37907084
>1600 is double 1080
>K
And it was still fuck all. And you have a shitty job with a shitty contract in which your employer can decide to give you less hours at a whim and you spend money on a credit card anyway.
>>37907111
Why should he care?
He's not the one under boot and to top it off you guys not only signed up for this but also voluntarily stayed on despite the conditions.
>>37907004
1600 lol I remember when I was 16, can't imagine making that now my wife and I pull 140k a year after taxes and we stopped working in our 30s
>>37907128
Libertarians are fucking assholes
>>37907112
I was making $2,500.
>>37907159
>My monthly income went from $1,600 to $1,080
You can see why I'd be confused.
>>37907004
Cut down your expenses, then pay off the credit card and get a debit card. Get your shit together man. Start with optimizing food, you should be able to get it down to $6 a day with some leeway.
>>37907172
You're confusing the income I'm making at this job to the income I had when I applied for a credit card.
I got the credit card in 2013; I had my current job since 2015.
>>37907135
You must have invested wisely to put you in a situation where you think that would be enough for the rest of your life.
>>37907206
>his 40s
>>37907153
You haven't answered the question: realistically, why should he care?
>inb4 a call to morals or money isn't everything
>>37907128
you're right, why should anyone care?
>>37907135
your wife is fat and you post on r9k, you're still a loser.
>>37907198
So, your pay went from 2500 to 1600 and you didn't think it prudent to cut your card up and pay everything back asap?
>>37907225
I want to build credit so I can mortgage a house.
>>37907235
>I want
You can't afford it, Negro. Also, does not being able to pay your credit card increase the chances of the realisation of this dream?
>>37907277
I'll be able to pay for it this month.
>>37907291
And the month after that when you get cut down to 15 hours? What about when your shitty contract means you are working only 10 hours? Have some foresight, nigger. You need to shred your card or a better contract/job.
>>37907235
You always pay your credit in full at the end of the month, you don't need to max it either.
