Anyone else got a facial disfigurement? How do you cope?
My one's mild and it's lead me to being a 21 year old kv
im saving up to get it fixed. Should take another 3 years or so aghhhh

what have you got, OP?
midfacial retrusion here, it's caused some tooth crowding in my back molars, and most notably, eyebags + scleral show. if I squint the terrible teartroughs/eyebags go away and I look completely normal. i've got malocclusion as well, and if I smile without artificially putting my teeth together at a more aesthetic position, and without squinting, I look completely subhuman. wrinkles under the eyes like an elderly person, chin pulled back too far. if i didn't have this fucking failed midfacial growth i'd have chad-tier looks, just goes to show you how much this shit matters. i hate seeing normalfags who are 4-6/10 with no deformities complaining about how ugly they are

How did you get it? In an original kind of way.

That sounds rough dude, sorry to hear it! Is there anything you can do to help fix it?
I have a Class 3 malocclusion (too) but it's really severe compared to the ones you might see on google images.
I completely get that; i don't think i'd quite be chad tier but my love life would have at least been normal if i didn't look like this
I hate that too! Esp when people think having a disfigurement is the same level of insecurity as having a slightly big nose or some shit like that

Born with it although it didn't become v noticeable until the later years. It's a skeletal overgrowth sorta thing

I would have to see surgeons to know what exactly I need to fix it, but it's possible. My estimate is that I would need a LeFort III advancement, which means my entire upper jaw from zygomatic bone to zygomatic bone would be separated from the skull, advanced, then fastened back to the desired position with titanium screws. Would require braces beforehand to ensure teeth would align in my brand new mouth. I should also mention that the dental crowding caused by this means I can really only chew my food with a limited amount of molars, increasing wear on them. The surgery would almost 100% be out of pocket, and I've heard numbers ranging from $10k to $30k. It's not just about how I look - from the teeth, to breathing problems/sleep problems, to TMJ disorder, I HAVE to get this done before it's too late. Honestly, one of the biggest reasons I just want to end it. It's so much, and I can barely even motivate myself to take a damn shower. I don't know when exactly this process set in; I was fine around middle school. It must have crept up slowly.
Yeah you've got to go for it if it's affecting your quality of life so much, good luck dude! You should start looking for a good surgeon and confirm everything which needs to be done. That way you have a price range and you'll feel better cos you'll be able to see the finish line. Hang in there bro, sooner you start the sooner you finish

Thanks. There are a lot of risks to consider, however. Facial numbness... Surgeon error when separating my entire fucking upper jaw... Simply dying under anesthesia in an intense operation, or even blindness (fuck that, just kill me). Pretty terrifying, but I believe it would be worth it. Just to be able to look in the mirror and think, "Yeah, this is my face. This is what my face was supposed to look like." seems like a dream to me.

I'm sure the vast majority of people who get the operation say that it's worth it! It'll probably be really rare for major fuck ups to happen
Either way your options are live like you are now or struggle through the operation and hopefully live a fulfilled life :). That's how i look at it anyway, got nothing to lose

wouldn't call it a "disfigurement" but my forehead, nose, cheeks, and chin are full of dark spots from scars i got from picking my face all the time. it's not even really acne so none of the acne shit i've tried works for it, i have literally no idea how to fix this shit.

Ahh tbf my disfigurement was a secondary issue whilst i had acne. Honestly though unless it's really severe i don't think many people care
I'm sure that there's some remedy for it. Maybe go to a doctor. I know someone who had something similar and she said that lots of exercise and water helped clear her skin completely
