>tfw you realize making $100,000 a year as a salary means you only bring home roughly $3,045 in spending money a month

Holy shit guys, wtf. No wonder it's hard for poor people to come up in this world. Taxes are ridicilous. A $100K a year salary isn't shit. If you want to make real money you literally have to run your own type of business. This makes me want to kill myself. PIC VERY RELATED.
>>
salaries are for fucking retards who wanna work 70 hour weeks but get paid for 40
>>
Semi-monthIy
>>
>>37587738
Anon...

Semi-monthly implies that you'd take home 6,090$ monthly, not 3,045$. Most people don't live in commiefornia, so they would take home more money. Also, most people are incompetents who buy cars, homes, and luxury objects out of their pay range.

>>37587738
everyone already pointed out how dumb you are

12K earner here (after taxes)

What's 'real money' and why don't I feel the need to kill myself although I dont make more than 100K a year?

You're an idiot, trust me. Money isn't everything you know.
>>
>>37587738
If I had a job I'd just save up the money; who cares about shit like new cars/houses/etc.

>but you won't attract gf if you don't flaunt your wealth

Who gives a fuck what women think or want.
>>
3k a month is an insane budget especially for plain old spending money. What a bunch of crocodile tears. At that much you'd be able to start your own business and make more jobs to out earn what you're already earning and employ more people.
>>
>>37587738
haha yeah it's horrible. I am a single person with no dependents with self-employment income... it's like 37% taxes. makes me want to kill myself
>>
I make $32k a year, I'm happy.
>>
I earn about 1200 a month total after taxes so obviously I would jump at the chance to trade places with you and have thousands of dollars in loose sending cash and 1000 second chances

Not to mention that everybody likes you if you have money. Nobody wants to date a broke blue collar wageslave...
>>
>>37588002
wut? this is hardly anything after apartment, car, food, etc.

>>37588620
yeah i would say as a single person 30k-50k is the sweet spot. it's enough to save up for a disaster and not get raped by taxes
>>
>>37587900
But money is everything in this world.

>>37588002
3K is actually very little for spending money.
>>
But that means they take home 6k per month.
Maybe theres a reason you dont make much money.
>>
>>37587900
Stupid fucking roasties stealing our anime memes.
>>
>You could pay $2k/mo in rent and still have $4k to work with
That's actually a lot more money than I thought it was
>>
My father makes 85k yearly.

He gets around 8k monthly, roughly 5k is usable after taxes and house payments.
>>
>>37587738
That's only ~22% of effective tax. Tax to pay for the roads you get to work on, the police to stop people from killing you, the FDA to make sure your drugs don't kill you, the CIA for making hilarious stories, ensuring that energy and water are available.

Your life is much better than a serf, and better than anyone living 100 years ago. It's not perfect, but it never will be in your life time.
>>
>>37588996
8K monthly adds up to 96K yearly.
>>
I've been making roughly 10k a year for the past 7 years. So far I've managed to save up 40k. A few more years and I'll be able to buy my own place
>>
>>37588793
>this is hardly anything after apartment, car, food, etc
That is not part of it. Disposable income means that shit is already accounted for.

Even then my car payments and Apartment only add up to about 800 bucks a month.
>>
>>37589003
lol your money goes to old people, funding wars for isreal, and for the CIA to make a rival company to the NSA for no reason. stuff like roads and police come from sales tax and other state taxes.
>>
>>37589267
I'm from Australia, where we only have two major taxes, but they go into the same pool(in effect). I'm paying an effective income tax rate of 35% and earning much less than you.

I don't really know much about your taxes, but what's wrong with paying for old people? I think the CIA and the NSA are fucking hilarious, but then again I'm not paying for them.
>>
>>37587738
What kind of socialist shithole do you live in?

this was 2016. I will be at 100k soon, I am on track for this year, but I will probably take some time off in august
>>
>>37589357
there's nothing wrong with paying for old people but it's more like i am paying all this money and there is a VERY high chance i will not get soc when i am older. i'm not talking about dying i mean there's a good chance they will do away with the system, meaning the money i've paid in is just for keks. the CIA and NSA should terrify you it's pretty much a zionist brainwashing program
>>
i bring home 3500 a month and im barely able to save anything. i spend like 35 dollars a day on food
>>
>>37589761
>i spend like 35 dollars a day on food
stop eating avocado toast

taxes for the """rich""" are crazy in first world countries. though to be fair, a lot of actually rich people (10mil+) do sneaky shit to hide their wealth, so everyone suffers trying to make up for these people
>>
>>37589902
>hide their wealth

you don't get taxed on wealth. You get taxed on income.

There is nothing sneaky or shifty about reducing your taxable income through the laws of the land.
>>
>>37590305
tell that to the USAs 32 trillion dollars of untaxed income hiding offshore. and thats just the stuff they are aware of
>>
>>37587738
That's a bullshit calculation. I make 70k and my take home is like 2150 every 15 days
>>
>>37588996
What does he do for a career?
>>
>>37587738
I only want 2k(take home) a month but don't want to work a traditional job, or at least one that has social interaction(normie customers and coworkers). Help
>>
>>37587738
>semi monthly
thats actually 6k/mo
>>
I live of 900 Eur a month without much trouble
>>
>>37587738
>semi-monthly
as many anons pointed out, this means twice a month

even if you live someplace stupid expensive (say 4k rent), how do you blow through the rest?

national taxes were 14k on 80k for me last year, although TX has no state income tax (we do more property tax instead). Bought a used car and live center-city and still came out +38k
>>
>>37588793
>wut? this is hardly anything after apartment, car, food, etc.

You're a moron. I live in a nice area in Boston and all of my expenses come out to $2,200/month. I could easily get down to $1,600 if I rented a cheaper place and drove a shitty car.

>yeah i would say as a single person 30k-50k is the sweet spot. it's enough to save up for a disaster and not get raped by taxes

Again, you're a moron. There's plenty of ways to reduce your taxable income such as 401k and IRA contributions. That's $23,500 of income you can "hide" from taxes every year. If you're smart and do Roth IRA conversions you'll pay almost no taxes on it when you want to withdraw.

Not to mention getting 50 cents of every additional dollar is better than 0 cents if you hadn't made that income.
>>
>>37589471
you work an insane amount though
you'd only be at 62 w/o overtime
>>
>>37591228
>you'd only be at 62

th...thanks for pointing that out, anon.

Most people in my position don't get OT. I am smarter than the average bear and took a reduced salary with 1.5x OT. They didn't realize that I have no friends and no hobbies
