I don't understand discord

It's alternative social media and has no place being mentioned on this board. Normalfags who post from their phones are the only ones who use it.

sites/communities/chans for people like you and any related stuff ike irc/steamgroups maybe. that is how i found mine

big discord servers tend to become cancerous

Discord is just a new, more accessible version of IRC. It can turn into a circlejerk very quickly but it's very good for keeping in contact with close friends, working on projects, playing games, etc. Generally it turns to shit like IRC channels do if you advertise it everywhere to bring in hundreds of people.
