I think it's scarier than that, OP. Any time you conceptualise yourself as "me", anytime you think about yourself as this contiguous whole, that is only a set of thoughts or perceptions or memories that take place in a split moment, and moments later you could be mentally oblivious that you were even thinking of yourself in that way previously.

However, if there's a resurrection of the dead and final judgement - then you as a person will be more truly "you" than you ever thought possible, with every single one of your actions, thoughts, potentials laid out with crystal clarity.

>he isn't cultured in physics

The so called "big bang" is a theorical state meaning it didn't happen in real life that was proposed after seeing that galaxies are going away from each other with time. Galaxies running away from each others means the universe is expanding, getting colder, and getting less dense.
Now get back in time, and what do you get? A universe getting smaller, hotter, and more dense. Until it becomes a point with infinite temperature and density.
That's your so called "big bang", going from that point to the current universe.

However, our current theories Einstein's relativism cannot go back in time before 13.7 billion years, at which point the plank's wall for anyone interestedEinstein's theory stops working.

Today, quantum mechanics is trying to surpass that wall. A couple of theories still in work right now manage to do so, one of them starting from a premise saying that temperature cannot be infinite. Which solves the wall, in that theory.

Fun fact: There are theories about the pre big bang universe. The big bang is NOT a huge explosion that spawned from nothing. The big bang is not the atheist version of the birth of the universe.
I hope I didn't waste my time and taught a thing or two to some anons.

>>
>>37553858
The "origin" is a self destructing concept.

If you go back in time and declare "this is the origin":
- How did that origin come from nothing? Can nothing spawn something? Literally contradictory
-There was something before, which means the origin isn't, and what was before it is the real origin. Back at square one, and reapply what I just said.

Not that I expect someone thinking the big bang is the origin of everything, then telling me to explain the origin of everything, shifting the matter of the discussion as if nothing happened to be interested in learning something.

To answer your last statement, as I said, the "origin" is a problematic concept. One solution would be saying that something existed all the time. Thus, it never was "born"But even that is problematic. Hope you enjoyed your philosophy lesson

>>37553868
Here's your (you)
>>
>>37553946
>something always existed

this
this fact cant be gotten around. something eternal put "this" here. no manner of mind games and gymnastics will change the answer, the answer will remain the same.(( somethnig)) always existed and we came from "it" from some convoluted unknown chain of cause and effect. can you wrap your mind around ETERNITY? I can't. But this is the reality

>this fact
It's not a fact you dumbnut. It's a workaround that still leads to more problems.

I didn't validate your religious beliefs, fucktwat. Even 13th century christian philosophers knew about the problem of eternity.

The problem, instead of being "the origin of existence", becomes "what is time and can eternity exist"
I really am giving jam to pigs, aren't I? At least I hope having a more intellectually challenging conversation instead of wallowing in self pity makes you feel a bit better
>>
>>37554066
It can exist because we live in it
>>
>>37554066
dumbdumb, eternity isn't dependent on "time". Time is a subjective construct of measurement; essentially the perception of gauging any degree of change in any given system. Obviously if you take conscious perception out of the equation "time" can become very elastic. If you aren't aware of it a million years can pass by in an instant. Eternity is the absence of time. eternity cant be measured. time is about measurement, eternity is without measurement.

thats just another unanswerable question. like asking how a thought of freewill or an intended act can trigger a chemical chain reaction in the neurological manifolds of any given organic brain and bring about a physical action. like literally how do you go from a purely MENTAL phenomenon to a purely {PHYSICAL reaction?
