Seriously, OP, take this guys advice. Start hiking. Challenge yourself. Get in good shape. Go from doing short hikes, to day long hikes. Then start going off trail. Look for landmarks, wander through cool scenic spots where nobody goes. It's unlimited adventure and it's free!

Well, It looks like there isn't much in terms of wilderness or open area. But, it looks to me like you can hike along the Potomac river, or Little Bennett Regional Park looks very foresty, perhaps even Rock Creek Regional Park, it looks very serene.
If you are able to travel, have a car, etc... I can probably find something better. I'm from California, so there's huge tracts of untouched land and wilderness, but I'll try to find you the best I can.

Not that guy but when I first started out I opted for a classical guitar. It has nylon strings instead of metal so you don't blister your fingers and end up having to take a break that leads to you never picking it up again. One of the major reasons I would constantly start then quit. Not to mention all you need is the guitar itself, and you can practice anywhere.
